In 1932, Black men in Alabama were told they had “bad blood.”
They had syphilis.
Doctors promised treatment—but never gave it.
Even after the cure was found, they were left to suffer.
For 40 years, the U.S. government studied their deaths.
Families were destroyed. Children born infected.
This is the Tuskegee Syphilis Study.
