Traveling in North Korea in 2025 is intense. We travelled to Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea to try and discover more about life here, and the people of this country beyond the negative media headlines.

North Korea (DPRK) isn't a country you can just travel independently, and we have to stick with our guides and on a specially designed tour for foreigners. On this tour we can only visit certain sanctioned places.
However, within this context, we are going to try and meet as many local North Koreans as possible and learn more about their lives in Pyongyang. As with everywhere we travel, we want to share the human side of the North Korea and not only what we see in the media.
