The Bloc Québécois said last week it won’t vote for a non-confidence motion to overthrow the Liberal government before October 29 to give them time to pass two bills, one of which would expand Old Age Security payments. The Bloc estimates the cost would be around $12 billion for the first five years, and then $3 billion every year after. However, the Parliamentary Budget Officer estimates the costs will be higher.
