Alright, just like my other SFM vid, Ima lay down some issues I had with this animation.
1. The lightbulb is only illuminated on the top half. I couldn’t get the entire thing to be illuminated so I just went with what I could do. Didn’t know how to fix it.
2. If you look closely at the bucket in scene two, you can see SMG4’s palm cutting through the bucket. This did not show up in the program only when I exported the video so I’m going to blame this on SFM. Also, I didn’t feel like fixing it after I saw it, so, yeah…
3. I unfortunately couldn’t move any of Mario’s eyelids to give him a shocked expression so all I could do was use his eyebrows. It wasn’t the best Mario model imo.
4. I also wanted Mario to have a stupider face in the last scene but, again, the model wasn’t the greatest so I just had to work with what I had. I’m not too upset about the it though. This is SFM I’m working with, not Gmod.
5. In the last scene, there seems to be some flickering and fuzzing on Meggy’s face. I think this is due to the light and I’m 99% sure I wouldn’t be able to find an easy way to fix it without dramatically changing a big part of the entire animation. Thankfully, I think the lightbulb buzzing sound effect in the video helps hide the issue by making it seem like the flickering is natural. Also, not sure if those type of lightbulbs buzz but I don’t care. It adds ambience.
Also, I did do all the voices myself.
Overall, this is the best SFM I’ve ever done so far and I’m happy that I now officially understand the basics of animating in SFM. It’s a great feeling knowing that I can watch other SFMs on YouTube and go, “Yeah, I could make that”.
By the way, next video will be another Retarded Stories vid so look forward to that one. I just wanted to take some time to learn SFM and show you guys the byproducts of that :)
