Palestinian medical workers make up a large percentage of the Israeli healthcare system, serving as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and more. But since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza, those who work in Israel have been subject to firings and censorship simply for expressing compassion for Palestinians in Gaza. It’s part of the continued marginalization of Arab minorities within Israel and violates the ethical principles of the medical profession, says Israeli human rights advocate Guy Shalev.
