This is well done presentation however it is a bit misleading to say that this F3800 will run your house. I have an Anker 767 with the backup battery which provides 4100w. Anker customer support is great and I am happy with this product. However, for most people, like me, I did not realize how long 3800w will really last. "It will not run your house". It will probably run the refrigerator, maybe a freezer and a few lights for maybe 24 hours. It will not run your AC, electric cooktop, oven, or Heating system for more than a few hours, especially if your heating system is electric like mine. I was shocked to see how quickly I could go through 4100w. Yes, you can add on additional batteries to the system but the cost per Kwh is very expensive compared to the more commercial HD solar system batteries that are available at less than one third the price of the Anker batteries per Kwh. Before purchasing a solar back up system do your research. I wish I would have done more research before purchasing the Anker system because I would have gone a different direction and saved a lot of money.

I looked at this unit when researching battery backup for my home. It was too small even though I have trifuel generators and some solar. I decided on the Ecoflow ultra with 18000 WH instead.

I actually bought one of these units and will be installing a 50A Reliance power transfer switch instead of the one from Anker.  At 6:25 of the video, you mention "self-consumption mode".

Will I still be able to use the app for self-consumption mode even though not using the Anker transfer switch?

Be wary of Anker ToS:
If you want full functionality (wireless connectivity, which is needed for firmware updates).

Per section 17, any disputes are "governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China".  If a dispute arises, it will be done "in accordance with the rules of the Shenzhen International Arbitration Court".  "The language of the arbitration shall be Chinese." and "The place of arbitration shall be Shenzhen, China."

In section 18.  They can update the ToS at any time and the ToS "shall be deemed effective upon the sending by us of an email".  They can put whatever [insert unimaginable terms here] they want and you have preemptively agreed to them.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the specs, it will deliver its full capacity for less than an hour! More broadly, 3.8KWh doesn't seem like a useful home power backup solution compared to an inverter generator.

Question, would you suggest having the battery pack in the house or in the garage? During the summer, it can be extremely hot in the garage and I am afraid it will place a strain on the battery and inverter.

I have been watching these solar units being explained for over two years now. I am not sure if I am just finally getting it or if this was the best explained video yet. 

Good job!! I am just gonna say it was just a good quality tutorial ... thank you. Now I need to start saving some money. Adding in that power panel is a definite for me. 

Just curious though, is there a limit how far away the unit can be located from the cb box? I would prefer this to not be inside my home.

This would be nice to purchase And incorporate solar into. Then maybe once a year by an expansion battery to spread the cost out. I doubt you’d ever make your money back with the cost of the whole system, but you would never be without power.

I have one main question. I am planning to install the same setup with transfer switch / subpanel for critical loads in my home. I understand the system might only run for 5-7hrs depending on loads. Question is can a small 20amp generator power the 120volt charging plug while in use? Will the Anker still power the panel from the battery while charging from the 120v? My idea is to limit the loads during charging for extended power outage without interruptions in home power supply.

Is it worth having two. One panel and batter  for lights, tv, ac, (life comfort things) and one panel  and battery for refrigerator, well pump etc (busy have)?

Thank you for your very simple but informative presentation...I am looking at the Anker 3800 for my home.  I gather that with the home power panel from Anker your 3800 is automatically recharged when you have grid power.  I am interested in how you wire the outlet to the outside of the house so your gas generator can recharge the 3800 when the grid power is out (this is while the 3800 is still attached to the home power panel).  Thank you again.
