👩‍🦰 Lady Godiva’s Noble Ride
Lady Godiva, a noblewoman in medieval England, couldn’t bear to see her people suffer under heavy taxes. She pleaded with her husband, Lord Leofric, to lower them.

🗣️ Lord Leofric’s Challenge
Her husband, knowing his wife’s modesty, said he would lower the taxes only if she rode naked through the town. He believed she would never agree.

🚪 The Town’s Respectful Silence
Godiva, determined to help her people, accepted the challenge. She appealed to the townspeople to avert their gaze as she carried out the act. The townspeople respected her courage and dutifully locked their windows and doors.

👀 Peeping Tom’s Curiosity
One man, called Tom, couldn’t resist the temptation. He peered through the window, shattering the town’s promise.

⚡ The Price of Curiosity
Legends say that Tom was either struck blind by a divine force or punished by the townspeople themselves for his disrespect.

🕳️ A Name Shamed for Eternity
His name became a symbol of prying eyes and shame — cursed to be remembered forever as Peeping Tom.

Awesome story, and that just goes to show: Don't stick your nose or eyes where they have no business being, or you just might find yourself in a world of trouble

How did they find out that Tom peered through the window?

@demetrius235

LOL, if everyone was inside and not looking, how do they know he was? How stupid.
