I tried it last week while in Shaoxing, China and had the same reaction. Calling it “stinky“ is an understatement. The smell and immediate aftertaste was like eating human waste. The first bite was loh, this is pretty good, but then the immediate smell and after taste kicked in. We both had a good laugh!
