I went to NK in 2012 and found it fascinating. The guides were extremely welcoming and friendly but that's their job. That's what they get paid to do. I'm not convinced they actually believed the propaganda they were telling us. But they don't have a choice. They have to look like they believe it. Some of them have traveled outside of NK so they know what the rest of the world is like. They know what's going on.

@DesireeBantay

good luck bro be safe❤❤

@tasteoffreek

Tbh its probably one of the best jobs to have to be a guide, so i can see its genuine

@travelwithpeace1

This is the last country I would want to visit. You might not have felt the fakeness because they are so good at it. All you would get and see is prepared organized propaganda, and you'll never get even a glimpse into the true and authentic reality and life of the North Korean people. It's a waste of time and money unless you just wanna tick off another country from your bucket list.

@Best_brosforever

Bro was held at gunpoint

@AngelinaSALT

Yeah they have to be friendly because their life depends on it

@veenapaulson4934

You didn't see the villagers who are starving. They hire the people miling around in the capital to look normal.

@pepinha1979

They hired best actors

@funnyfaces3849

“nothing about it felt fake” is literally you just saying “i am gullible”

@sixgun1414

The guy on the sidewalk never left the military.

@starshine9836

I don't think they are fake. They are born into the system, hierarchy and behave according to their laws and culture. I'm sure there are schools, hospitals, shops etc. Just different. Every country has their system and culture, not just NK and we follow them to different degrees to meet the societal norms and are accustomed to it too. Just that in Japan people don't talk in the train. NK has their own set of norms.

Are all the people pitiful and sad? I don't think so. Some might be fortunate to be living in their own bubbles. Getting married, have kids, work, study, repeat.

@wallrads

I used to think that country was not good, thank you for helping me see alternative perspectives ❤

@jason2014

After following a single path through their richest city, i now understand the entirety of NK

@MrQuijibo

Propaganda got him hook, line and sinker

@sathu0utlaw4o8

@tztz1949
