The key to Nichijou's brilliance is it's emotion. It takes average everyday things. Things that, were they to just happen, would only take about thirty, fourty seconds to pass and they take the raw emotions that we would feel, the perception of time and space, the heart and soul of human interaction...and they show us THAT in place of what would actually happen...and that is why it is brilliant.

Another key of brilliance in Nichijou is it's faithful continuity. You can actually see Mio sporting some bandages on her right ankle in some shots, especially when she's rolling around the floor the first time. Why? Because this scene takes place the day after Mio (and Yukko) got bit by Mai's dogs 😁
