This type of video should be as a pop up on first boot of Home Assistant. Would save a lot of time for newbies.

Great HOWTO on getting help. Agreed, RTFM, do your best to research others problems. The 80 20 rule, 80% of the questions can be resolved by 20% of the answers. After all that DO ASK FOR HELP!!! And, if you are part of the 20%, document the heck out of your problem and solution and post it! Now you will be part of that 20% of the solutions.

Home Assistant is wonderful though it's not for everyone. For me, I love the feeling of digging in, learning something, getting a bit of help from videos, forums, etc, and coming out the other side with something that I can be proud of. It took me a LONG time to figure out how to control my 6 zone audio amp that I use for whole home audio with home assistant. Got some tips from Home Assitant Github pages, reddit, and just trying multiple things, but I finally got it working in a way that suits my needs (though totally inelegant). Each command is placed in config.yaml as a telnet switch. But, I have buttons in lovelace that turn on zones, adjust volume, select sources, etc. I am now figuring out how to automate some of that....Time to do some more tinkering and learning.

This is great!
Asking a good question is hard, but is Oh So Much worth the effort.

Warning! The HA Forum is run by a number of people who think very highly of themselves and likes to pick on us who they thin know less. And don't tell them then you get kicked out for being combative!

Great tips, Thanks brother❣🤪 I think my update.sh didn't run because I hadn't restarted my server... Probably didn't get scheduled... I ran it manually and rebooted server... Now I'm on 2022.4!!!
