The Anker F3800 Plus is a solid step up from the original, with improved solar input, a dedicated 30A RV outlet, and a few welcome tweaks to the user interface. It’s still a powerful, expandable unit built for serious useβ€”whether you need home backup, RV power, or off-grid portable energy. In this review, we cover everything we liked, including the build quality, battery expansion options, and versatility, as well as what didn’t impress usβ€”like one feature that turned out to be a little misleading.

Why cant these power station companies run double smaller inverters (3000W +3000W) in parallel to bring down the ridiculous high idle power consumption

@dominique___1980

I'm so glad y'all tell it like it is. I have been using a Delta Pro for 3 years.. this will be my 4th summer. I love how much this technology has improved.. and rely upon HONEST and TRANSPARENT reviews like y'all do. Thanks SO much.

@grahamkearnon6682

Frankly the regular price is nuts, for 3800 watts. The inadequacies mean there's a plus plus coming or more. Todays world needs value for money, much like ecoflow, that's not here yet.

@dontbanmebrodontbanme5403

I guess you're paying for the portability? The price is insanity. $3K for 3.8kWh of storage????? Get yourself the Ruixu Lithi2-16. It has **16kWH** of storage and is rated for 9,000 cycles!!! Yeah, it doesn't have an inverter, but you can pair it with one (maybe an EG4 6000XP) and you'd have a far more capable setup, in so many ways it would take a whole book for me to mention them all!

@javigarcia-m5f

So if I will was going to get f3800 for home backup up and put solar panels do u recommend fr3800 or f3800 plus

@shannonpeterson9527

This perfect for our home and family. We'd use this for emergency, camping , fishing trips and entertainment, including outdoor movie night !

@danchesney631

So many channels focus on fast charging, & making sure they can get the rate, but it’s the last thing you want to do. It’s hard on the batteries & the inverter.

@newchannelhardware

Great videos - bought the bundle offered last November: (2) F3800 units, Anker Smart Transfer panel which came with a sub-panel, 400w solar panel and F3800 cover for just under $5.5k. 30% energy credit and $700 in rewards made this an easy choice. We moved a bunch of circuits to the sub panel peak shaving to lower our monthly bill and also be ready for a power outage. It's not a whole-home solution but it's a little feeling of security when storms roll through.

@RandenMontalvo

My whole thing is the storm feature could’ve been a software update instead they released a whole new unit. It’s really odd to not just add that to the existing app for existing 3800 users.

@MyGuyKirby

Glad you shared the results of the charging with and without extra batteries. Agree that buying direct from Anker is going to cost more than shopping around, sad way to boost their profits.

@maxherman11

Could you compare the Delta Pro 3 VS the F3800 Plus? I think that they are now even more similar and would love to hear your updated thoughts on each when pitted against each other

@OffGridNRG

Everybody wants to mention how long Anker has been around. They haven't been in the portable power station business that long and it shows. As far as a ready made portable power station I will stick with Ecoflow. But my homes backup power system is modular - batteries, inverters, chargers, solar panels, and charge controllers. I have a subpanel that powers what I need during a grid down situation. It has way more capacity than any ready made power station and it cost a helluva lot less.

@calebdavenport4983

Thanks for the info. I’ve been trying to decide between Anker and Ecoflow.

@roatanbound2023

It blows me away when I see these large power stations bundled with their portable floppy panels that add thousands of dollars to the price, and that people actually use these for static home setups. If you're using it for an RV, sure. But third party rigid panels are SO much cheaper. It's a no-brainer.

@1ENDUSER

May you guys make a video about cords/cables you guys use for your generators/solar etc adapters etc. That's part of the solar world or your channel. Please & thanks.

@edolson1698

If anker wants to fix problems they should have worked on the idle consumption first , but I guess the solar inputs were easier.

@CWK09

They are out of their minds with their pricing. Even if you took off $1,500 for the inverter portion of the unit, the battery costs over $440 per kW. You can get rack mounted for $170-$200 per kW. And, the inverter is not worth $1,500.

The portability of the unit is not worth twice the price of a DIY solution. It gets even worse when you compare output, total solar they can accept, warranties, etc.

@tonyinfinity

The prices are still outrageous for a unit large enough to power your house. Then you have to install enough solar to charge it in a day, which is at least 1000 watts of panels. I installed a 12,000 watt 240V tri-fuel generator to power my house for $1200 and it can virtually run forever since I connected it to my natural gas line, and I can use propane or gas if I had to. In my opinion units this large are a waste, they're too large to really be portable and the price is way to high to warrant what they do, they don't have enough power to run your whole house for very long. If you don't have much to power and for long periods of time and don't want to deal with gasoline or a generator than get a smaller unit that is portable and just charge it at home. The whole idea of connecting these to solar panels is kind of ridiculous. If your intention is to use a unit like this to power your home and have solar connected then you're way better off with a 48V system with rack batteries and inverter.

@pvanderwall3473

Excellent info as always. I appreciate the quick informative videos you all put out. Testing and long term testing is very helpful and especially when you call tech support of the particular power station your doing a video on ! πŸ‘πŸ‘
