The problem is those titles technically do serve that remastered term of the word. Remastered, it’s literally just changing the resolution and the frame rate while remake on the hand is going beyond. The last of us one can still qualify as a remake from the moment they use new textures and assets from another game that being the sequel. The big issue is that those games already looked good enough and they don’t desperately need a remaster. If someone wants to release games it might as well be those stuck on the PS3 or previously bad executed port like red dead redemption from PS3 to 5, which is literally night and day 4K 60 FPS from sub 30 FPS with lower than 720 P. If they want to get money from remasters, they should at least do it in a way that makes sense.

Another reason I will support physical media until they stop supporting it. I’ve bought multiple PS4 games used for like 20-25 bucks. A lot of them have free upgrades for PS5 anyway. Save like 40-50 bucks a game

Agree with a lot of this but I don’t think it’s a huge issue that games like HZD are getting remasters, you only have to pay €/$/£10 extra usually and the facial animations in the original HZD were atrocious. It would be nice if we could get these types of remasters as well as more substantial ones, but you have to remember that those take more time as well (although it’s ridiculous we still don’t have a 60fps Bloodborne).

Don't worry boys, PS6 is coming soon and I'm sure we'll get to experience the remastered remakes of The Last of Us Part 1, The Last of Us Part 2, The Last of Us Complete Edition, Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Zero West, God of War, Spiderman etc. I can't wait to experience the same old games in a new packing yet again. Tbh Sony's gotten really comfortable this gen and really lazy. I hope the next Xbox (if it indeed supports Steam) checks them good for their laziness and greed.

Well at least we sort of know why Bloodborne has been ignored for so long. Maybe they will finally hit that button after this Switch game, good sales or bad.

Not all PS4 games need a remaster since they still hold up well today. I will say that I can see the improvements in Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone. Of course, what we REALLY need is a Bloodborne remaster with 60fps. What are you waiting for, Sony?

Naughty Dog should be ashamed of themselves. I never had a PS3 because, well, I was always more of an Xbox guy. But then I got my PS4, and boy were the exclusives great! We got The Last of Us Remastered, GoW 2018, Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding… …and now all we have are shameless cash-grab remasters of games that never needed it. Like TLOU2, which is arguably the best (or one of the best) looking video games EVER…on the PS4! Replaying it on PS5 with the remaster, I did NOT notice a night and day difference! Say what you will about Oblivion Remastered, but it’s one we actually NEEDED, and the difference is stunning.

Witcher 3 basically got a proper remaster with next gen upgrades which was a massive leap in quality. Guess what? It was a free update. Why can't other companies not just Sony do this?

I like sony i collect sony and yes that is a major issue lack of titles on ps5 was however a blessing in disguise since it helped me shift my focus to ps3 and 4 gen which may i say is more fun more established in terms of performance looks good(imo) and everything is on disk . Sony has 30 years of content to pick from they can and should do better than new game remasters and adding digital iso to the store .
