The only reason why Tokyo Revengers' pacing is slow, repetitive, and full on annoying as hell. Is BECAUSE of Takemichi, and his character development, it's taking him too long. He has all these plans, but DOES NOT do them until the last minute, and he ALWAYS PUTS HIS GUARD DOWN. Like he's trusting everyone but nobody at this point. Everything is good, the story, the plot, where it takes place, and why. It's all good, it's just the main character is just being... Hopeless at this point. I do respect Takemichi, because I have read the manga. But, he still sucks.

What makes Tokyo revenger is really bad is the story heavily depends on plot device to force the story to happened,hina is not a character she is a plot device whose whole purpose is to be the nice ideal girlfriend who always dies,the story reasoning gets even worse when the story revealed that the reason why time traveling exist is because someone killed a random hobo whose again, a plot device rather than a character since he never appears for 200+ chapter he just exist to force the plot to keep going.

Honestly, I actually really enjoyed Tokyo Revengers. I personally feel like its underrated. The only thing I hate about the anime is the animation. But that's just me.

Funnily enough Takemichi has a pretty good reference of how dangerous this shit is from one example. When Pah-chin’s friend’s girl got beaten and assaulted by a rival gang. So seeing less of her would’ve made sense not BREAKING UP WITH HER.

The thing is, I don't even dislike that Takemichi sucks at fighting, but him then not even looking to compensate is just un- fucking believe like nobody with even half a braincell would not yk atleast have a learning curve of how situations escalate, so maybe he develops skills in the direction of persuasion, nope like it's ok to be weak it's just not ok to be absolutely incompetent in a position he finds himself in

The thing i find very sad. Is this man lack of learning any arts. Like you got the two brothers breaking people's bones with moves and shit. And mitchi gets nothing. Rokudo bad girls did better in that aspect.

This is what l noticed but l also think there was also a missed opportunity to make takemichi even more of a badass like remember that scene where he protected his girlfriend's brother well those were one of the few times he actually was very intimidating and l thought wow he actually has potential to be a gang member like if he shows that side of him more often he might actually intimidate people and l have an Idea but what if takemichi uses his durability gets back up with a crazy looking smirk on his face and intimidates others with his crazy durability he would've been a menace with his crazy durability he uses to his advantage what if it was so much so that to his enemies he was like a zombie what if the reason he keeps letting himself get beat up is to actually intimidate them so he could take his enemy off guard and that way he could make himself look weak then as soon As his enemy thinks hes weak he stabs them from behind with a crazy look on his face his wild side he never knew he had im him this was actually a missed opportunity
