@colleend80

TODAY, AT THE AGE OF 44, I HAVE FINALLY GOT THE REAL REASON WHY I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING MY WHOLE LIFE.
TODAY, I'VE RECEIVED MY FORMAL ASD DIAGNOSIS!
I CAN FINALLY STOP FEELING GUILTY AND BLAMING MYSELF FOR ALL MY PAST FAILURES. I CAN POSSIBLY START ACCEPTING MYSELF AND EXPERIENCE SUCCESSES šŸ’«

@FoxstarHaven

I recently learned that there are flavors of autism that THRIVE on figurative language, our authors and poets and philosophers, and it finally helped me place myself on that part of the spectrum. Almost every symptom of autism has both hyper- and hypo- applications

@davidroddini1512

For those looking for the TLDR here are the 10 signs:
1. Social Interaction Challenges
2. Difficulty with Implicit Communication
3. Strong Need for Structure and Routine
4. Sensory Sensitivities or Insensitivities
5. Excessively Uneven Skillsets
6. Emotional Regulation Issues
7. Strong Sense of Justice and Fairness
8. Unusual Mental Jumps
9. Being Labeled as ā€œDifferentā€ or ā€œUniqueā€
10. Hyper-focused on Passions

Admittedly some of these are cross-linked with ADHD (which is often co-occurrent).

A very good video and I highly recommend setting aside time to view it. Especially if you think you are, or have to deal on a regular basis with, someone on the spectrum.

@peternolan4107

I have realized I am on the spectrum, as well as having ADHD. One of my strongest traits: I do not understand hints or implications at all. People have to come right out and say what they mean, otherwise I am at a complete loss about what is going on! Your statement about standing up for what is right in the workplace... Been there, done that! And regretted it.
Thanks for your help, Orion!

@IndridCool54

I’m 70… when I was a kid it wasn’t cracks it was a crevasses. I only figured it out after watching one of your videos a couple years ago. I want to thank you šŸ™šŸ¼ šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼

@debs.8953

ā€œ Social interactions can leave you drained – even debilitatedā€. I laughed so hard when I heard you say ā€œdebilitatedā€. Not because it was funny, but because it so perfectly describes what I often feel (but don’t recognize). Thank you for helping me identify that emotion 😊

@AsaTorell

Wonderful video again Orion. Isn't it 'funny' by the way that for neurotypicals it's called a hobby and for us autistics it's a 'special interest'. The endless pathologizing is my current peeve. Stadiums full of people watching other people kick or toss a leather orb around and it's perfectly normal, sit at the end of a runway and watch planes land and takeoff every Sunday afternoon (for example; or watch someone on Youtube play a videogame etc) and you're 'quirky' or a 'weirdo'. I just CANNOT.

@Ashley_Obscuro

Honestly your channel and a lot of other autistic and ADHD channels have helped me to understand why I was constantly performing "human" and I felt so fake all the time.

@bruyeremc

The ā€œlet’s get coffee sometimeā€ game is what leads me to think that people hate me. I take them seriously only to never hear from them again and feel so rejected

@mediocre.medicine7188

I recently got my autism & adhd diagnoses back properly recently, along with learning disabilities. I just wanna say how much you and your channel has helped me learn about myself before being professionally diagnosed. Ill be continuing to watch your content knowing that im seen and heard properly and shown to the world for how i percieve and feel! Thank you so much for being yourself and talking about it :)

@chloe-sunshine7

It’s been a while since I watched one of your videos. I forgot how comforting it is to know that there are other people who experience these things. It’s so great to know that I’m not some broken human being. I’m just a little different. I’m good at some things, and bad at others. I really needed this today 🩷

@rampagegage2259

Okay coffee thing definitely caught me by surprise šŸ˜‚

@pippaseaspirit4415

I remember as a very young child that I felt that I was supposed to have been a cat. I found the cat much easier to understand than the humans.

@spicyboyii

Your voice reminds me of a show I watched as a kid called Art Attack! It's so soothing to hear it's like being a kid again ā¤

@cowsonzambonis6

I always feel SO validated after watching your videos (or when I read your book!)- THANK YOU for your content- it not only helped me self-diagnose, but continued to help me on my journey to heal myself and move forward. ā¤

@robertahagen6455

You're so great at relating to us and I thank you so much for spending your time and energy on validating us! Can't thank you enough! May God bless you and your family šŸ™!

@ShekinahGwaii

The sound thing is particularly interesting, as I've been learning in esoterica that our bodies and their parts are antennae for other dimensional experiences, and we use the large body of tantra teachings that are like a how to use manual for our Vehicles... I also cannot have unknown noises around me (sometimes even known ones ) thank you for always being so honest (?) It's like a vitamin to me šŸŽ‰ā¤šŸ˜Š

@A.I-GAMING

Orion you have popped into my head randomly so many times when
I am having autistic struggles, your words help me get sorted out
daily,   Thank you.

@LadywatchingByrd

Your shirts, Orion, are always bangers!! šŸ˜…

Get up, go on a 45 min walk on the same route, eat the same breakfast, shower, open drawer to over 50 of the same vest tops (despite the weather outside) in a few colours, same seamless leggings and socks that aren’t too tight or slack, slip on shoes as I can’t tie laces, walk into almost every doorframe while getting ready, drive to work where I’m self employed and don’t have to deal with anyone all day long, listen to Orion Kelly all day, do EFT while driving around to regulate, see or hear something that inspires me to pull over and write a poem, maybe about the universe/quantum physics, go to the gym with headphones on or exercise class where I get kicked out for calling out the teacher for targeting someone…random stranger to me but hey ho…they should be respectful to students, go home, eat dinner and recharge by being silent on the sofa with the big light off whilst wondering when and how I bruised my shins/cut my finger…before I can function again, and people say I’m not autistic but I’m an intersting person🤣 thank you Orion for your amazing videos! šŸ™šŸ¼
