Plankton would be sued for taking the same idea because he doesn't own the right to sell Krabby Patties. The only reason it didn't happen in the movie because Plankton lied and told them it was Krabs's death wish.

what if in this story Squidward realized that the brainwashed townsfolk love his music, so he betrayed sandy and Mr. Krabs and joined plankton which led to the antidote's destruction and Mr. Krabs and sandy came under control of the chemical and plankton fully conquers bikini bottom

Aftermath: Plankton suffers his Final Defeat, once he lost everything, That was it for Plankton, He may now know the Formula, but he legit lost the trust of everyone, Plankton is Truly out of the Game now, he is now forced to permanently Close up his Restaurant, So now, Plankton retires, he moves away from Bikini Bottom with Karen, like an Episode where he fakes his Retirement sending his Robot but instead of that, it’s actually him, Mr. Krabs Won this Final War against Plankton and seeing Plankton Leave on a Bus with an absolute defeated Face, Krabs is Happy he won and now never has to worry about Plankton ever again

The thing is, what if you call the second SpongeBob movie (sponge out of water) canon? If you do, that means SpongeBob isn’t allowed to remember how to make a krabby patty due to the scene where he goes to the handbook and states “No employee may, in part or in whole, commit the Krabby Patty Secret Formula to any recorded, written, or visual form, including memories, dreams, and/or needle point.”
