The remaster on UE5, I know for a fact my PC can't handle it. So, I'm thankful that Skyblivion is there as an alternative.

As a small indie dev, it’s wild what Modders are capable of. I suspect Skyblivion is a big reason Bethesda’s monetization department gave the green light for the remaster, because it’s hard to sell people like that on ideas, even if we gamers knew an oblivion remaster would be super popular, the money people are out of touch with us, but since they could be shown proof (millions of views for Skyblivion) I really think it helped us get Oblivion Remastered. So if anything we can really thank Skyblivion for giving us two “remakes”. I guess we’ll never know for certain but I really think this likely happened behind the scenes.

I feel like if skyblivion never existed, we would not be getting an oblivion remaster. So honestly, I will probably just play the remaster if it's as good as its looking to be, and I will support skyblivion for their work because it showed bethesda the demand for this remaster.

It must have been a strange feeling working on the official remaster knowing there was a mod team essentially doing the same thing and you couldn’t say a word to them without spoiling the news way too early.

I’m excited for both, and I think both can and should coexist Skyblivion is a free mod for starters, and as excited as I am for the remaster I dread seeing the price tag it’ll have.

Oblivion is THE game I got my wife into gaming with, and she's been my best friend and gamer ever since. The fact we get TWO new versions to play this year will make one heck of a wonderful anniversary binge week.

One is being made in Skyrim's Engine, the other in Unreal Engine. It'll be fun to play both and compare the ups and downs of each game! Hella excited
