Fun Fact: If one of you has the energy shield backpack, hugging will save both of your lives in this situation. Unless you're direct impacted by the bomb, since the first hit will break the shield
This exact situation has happened shockingly often
They say every time a Helldiver sacrifices their life for democracy, A flag of Super Earth is planted where they fell.
'You fired a nuke at the Bile Titan! Where's the Bile Titan, Wesley?!' 'Ooooh...'
Throwing stretegms only for them to get attached to a hunter or charger and immidiately rush towards you with a bonb soon to follow....what a classic feeling
perhaps it was a bad idea to let the clumsy guy use a 500kg bomb
"WE HUG....FOR DEMOCRACY" is now going to become a part of my day to day life.
"We hug...FOR DEMOCRACY!" Salutes
The shield generator on my back: GET DOWN MISTER PRESIDENT!!
Forgot about the Bile Titan being just fine because the 500kg has a hilariously low range for it's animation.
Fun fact: being prone reduces explosive damage by like 40-60%. Ive seen fellow Helldivers turn to chicken nuggets standing up while I don’t get a scratch on the ground
Hugs are the best final wish a friend who botched a grenade could ask for.
That ending made it so sweet.
HOLD MY LIBER-TEA 🍵
And this is why you give the klutz the personal shield. So when they drop the 500 you can hug them and still both live.
This is a legitimate strategy to survive large blasts with the shield backpack too
Single handedly going from 95% to 100% is a huge impact for a single mission.
shouldve added a frame where the Bile Titan walks away like “huh that was weird” only for it to get demolished by a brand new Cadet in a Hellpod, being deployed for his first mission
And thats why I wear the DP-40 Hero of The Federation. 50% chance of survival is better than none.
