@vividdaydream1516

Wage theft should be treated the same as "normal" theft: with jail time for the perpetrators.

@Luis-be9mi

I’m getting the feeling that even if all the workers left. Those billionaires will probably lobby for prison inmates to fill in those vacant positions.

@Michael.Figueroa14

I was born in Miami. After graduating college I found out it was cheaper to take a $40K job out of state than in $45K in Miami. Rent, lack of public transportation, utilities all made the city unaffordable.

@Johnny-fw9xj

As a European it's incomprehensible that lobbying is not only accepted, but also legal in America. Lobbying is straight up corruption, there's no way around it.

Or how would you describe it when corporations pay money to law makers, and for exchange the law makers make laws that directly benefit the corporations? How is that not bribing a politician and thus corruption?

@razormusic1100

I live and grew up here. It sucks, all my friends and families are moving due to the inaccessibility of affordable housing and livable wages. Our mayor is a wall street shill who abandoned his own people for financial gain.

@butttercroissant

I’m a German carpenter and I’ve always thought about going to the us to work, seeing this and learning more about America, I think I’ll reconsider

@clinthufkie3242

Let me guess, when politicians were questioned, the tagline was "It will be good for Miami's economic growth."

@zoroark567

The fact that they'll only send you to a COMPANY OWNED clinic for evaluation after a severe accident is absurd and should be illegal.

@jeffdul4283

No union representation equals low wages and no safety standards.

@Amy-u9g

I work in construction in Florida. Theres always a joke among construction workers about how we built it from the ground up, but we could never afford to live or stay in any of these fancy houses or hotels we build.

@jasonanders7003

I am a builder. I am insulated from the problems these tradesmen face in Miami. I live in avery small town. My heart goes out to these guys. Thank God for this platform. Youtube is the only place I would hear these stories in such detail. One day the world will just be skyscrapers and shanty towns.

@kagaminek

that's how they get rich. stealing money from people who do all the work

@SpecialSP

America is like the Titanic; too big to turn, too slow to react, in denial about sinking and there aren't enough life boats for everyone.

And we're ALL in steerage …

@broskydoodle6697

I genuinely don't understand how people, how ANYONE who isn't a billionaire can bare to defend them. They HATE you, they always will. You are a number to them and you're only worth the air you breathe if you make their line go up.

And the worst part is, it's often the places with the most obscene living conditions that seem to defend them the hardest.

@ElizabethGarcia-vk1sl

Miami native here. It’s heartbreaking to see what Miami’s become—unrecognizable and uninhabitable for the locals, for the people that actually built this city. The mayor and everyone who works with/ for him are a bunch of spineless, money-hungry scammers. I don’t think it’s going to get any better with developers being allowed the unrestricted freedom to make space for no one but themselves. It’s a shame because I love my city. It’s my home. Money rules everything here and it’s a place for the fake and greedy.

@lonny3344

I'm a commercial electrician in central FL. its the same across the state. Someone would go to jail if your dog had to be in the environments we have to work in. It feels like my job that I need is slowly killing me with out fare compensation.

@pillberry305

I’m a teacher in Miami. My rent is 3,200 for a two bed one bath. I’m barely eating so my five year old can eat. Highest inflation in the country. All the workers are leaving. I’m soon to be one of them

@justinthomas7222

The wealth never has trickled down. Just the piss stream.

@genius6225

I am sick of Billionaires who think they are more important than the workers who build and plan EVERYTHING.

@hamptertime

Considering they killed OSHA, they really don't give a crap about workers.
