A big thank you Mark from a Syrian Canadian guy who is missing his home country a lot, thank you for highlighting the beauty of Syrian food and culture! Your film showed such a warm, authentic side of Syria and its amazing culinary diversity. It’s wonderful to see these stories shared with the world!

@jameister12345

Thank you for showing the positive side of Syria - the hospitality and generosity of the people, the rich culture, and the delicious food. This gives me hope that Syria can rebuild itself to its former glory after years of destruction.

@MrsMiamore1

I hope when people watch this, they open their eyes to the fact that arabs are kind, hospitable and life loving. Great job Mark and Rami was so nice and cute πŸ˜‚

@CHEFjebrairl

This Syrian people has been living on Assad's farm for more than 55 years - but they are a great people who can soon build a Syria without Bashar al-Assad and live in peace - you are always welcome in Syria and thank you sir for your visit

@supianzainuddin1482

Syria is so mystical and beautiful, not to mention the food. The monastery is so amazing. Thank you for sharing it with us.

@tidus96

I used to live in Syria for 2 years before the Civil War started. I'm in the U.S. now. But watching this, all I kept saying to myself is what Andy said in the Office: "I wish we knew we were in the good old days when we were in the good old days."

Thank you, Mark. You've inspired me and you've gained a new follower.

@1977brianv

This was one of my favorite episodes, Mark! Thank you for sharing with us!

It seems like everything changed overnight, but your show will shape the future, along with the food, the people who cherish Syrian cuisine and culture, and those who wish the Syrian people well. Kudos to you, Mark, for sharing this with the world!

@joemokhari5661

Mark you truly showed the world that food can unite the nations and break barriers.

Thanks for showing me the true definition of Syria, with love from South Africa.

@tdmprofit3708

You will never see this on western media. God bless Syria. God bless how they stand for all communities and religions. As a Christian it touched me. Beautiful people!

@ophelia1122

As a Syrian diaspora who hasn't been to Syria for 12 years, I enjoyed watching this very much! I also laughed so much every time Rami tried the food. He acted as if he was trying everything for the first time hahaha!

@garygreen2827

This was a special video. There was so much hope for a new Syria. We loved seeing the historic Christian and Muslin sites. Now there is sadness from a renewed revolution. My heart goes out to the people of Syria.
