I just watched your most current pantry tour β¦.. woahhhhhhh - what a difference. Congratulations.
I can a lot of fruit. I was psyched last year when I found pineapples for $.49. I bought 13 and canned them in their own juice. I take the scraps and cores and boil them down for juice. I can peaches, cherries, strawberry sauce, blueberry sauce, applesauce.
I enjoy watching pantry videos! They are so inspiring and itβs a great reminder of what items I could use in mine!! Thank you!
I am watching this again for the third time! The variety of your canned food is awesome! We moved and I really have been going at it, too! I love being able to go to my "stash"! You should get a crown! Great job!
I am interested in what you think of the canned ham. I did it a few years ago for the first time and it was not to my taste (nor my husbands). If you do like the taste, I would be interested to see what you do with it. (video idea?) Beautiful storage for the extended pantry. You might want to switch the single jars on the bottom left shelf with the double boxed jars on the shelf above. The weight of the double boxed row is bowing that shelf, the bowing will probably become permanent if left too long. Also, when you buy new boxes of jars, if you leave the shrink plastic on the bottom, it will protect the boxes from moisture. I have even seen canning videos where all of the plastic is left on and the top plastic folds over the top of the jars to keep them from getting dusty. It's not a pretty (so I don't do it) but it is practical. Great video, thank you for sharing. I avoided it for years but canning meat is one of the easiest things to do and I absolutely love it. Not all of them are wins (ham, shrimp). Unfortunately, it looks a little horrifying in the jars. But fortunately, I can use them for low cost Halloween decor. :)
Rachel you have every reason to be proud of your stored harvest!!!! Iβm so impressed with the variety (lots of yummy treats), the care and knowledge that fulfilled your dream this year. Catherine from Canada π¨π¦πππ
I am getting there as well with my pantry. We keep canned taco meat for summer when we work so late as well as canned sausage for gravy biscuits is a staple here with alot of what you have as well
Wow so much canning and so much variety and so much work!! I always try to make some different things every year. Dilly beans are so good. I try doing pickles but for the last 3 years I have not had much success growing pickling cucs. I've never done beans. I will also have to try those. I also like fermenting stuff as well. I keep saying I want to try canning chicken when we butcher our meat birds and still haven't done it. I've done our beef though and it's so good.
Rachel a.k.a. the super canner! Job well done!
I've been following you guys for a few months now, but I'm actually wanting to go back and watch some of your older ones! You guys are just an absolute blessing to meβ€οΈ
Ooh This was fun! Something I don't see on your shelves is pasta ( or maybe I missed it ). I make and dry my own pasta and haven't purchased ANY store bought for years and years. Once you have had homemade pasta you just can't go back. It's SO different. I also don't see any corn on your shelves? Anyway, This video is old so it doesn't matter. lol I'm so happy you're happy! VERY nice work! Thank you for the upload. It was very enjoyable :) May you lack nothing and your home be filled with abundance!
I am going to move into your pantry. Looks like a beautiful painting.
I learned that if you add an apple or to with the potatoes it will help preserve them and keep the eyes from growing on your potatoes.
You can have the canning Queen π & π₯. That's an incredible pantry tour. We'll done. I must have missed the green tomato jam. I'm going to have to find that one. Thank you for sharing xxoo
I ventured into the canning world and am loving it! Well done!
What timing ! Iβm sure this brought you a lot of peace in these troubling times!
Watching your excitement, joy and pride made me smile. Congratulations on all of your hard work - you killed it this year! So much love to you!!!
I would love videos using these awesome items. I've never even had most of them its let alone canned anything.
To help your potatoes when storing, you should layer them with straw when storing in bins. This will help to keep them from starting to sprout.
