This is a true musicians musician, what a fucking talent. Were all lucky to be alive when this man is.

@aaronrumfelt8111

Honestly, not rhyming in this way is what makes poetry beautiful

@michaelleon5647

“There’s no time you must be home so sleep where darkness falls” is such a beautiful line.

@justinmayfield6579

Creating tension by not resolving in rhyme about a song about worry and then letting the calm, confident lyrics and music carry the song because "you're not worried about not rhyming" is already genius. Then finally resolving on the "you got through it" line is genius squared.

@bartmegens

Please build statues for this man in every city.

I’m 38 and have been a huge fan of John Mayer since I was in high school! I’m so grateful he’s still producing music. His older songs fill me with such nostalgia, driving the same country roads listening to the same music as I did when I was 16. Makes me happy and grateful to be alive 😊

@adamschlinker972

John Mayer is so giving of his talent. He just genuinely loves music and loves sharing it.

@evelina2363

His voice is like a soft touch

@christclinger6540

Truly great song writer. I always feel good listening to Mayer sing and play.

@elribeiro2240

It resolves from the beginning through end. The entire toon is perfect.

@joey.h14

i love that john mayer has released music that he wrote as an experiment or as some sort of musical exercise. Truly talented

@Shawneverette

One of my favorite songs on the record.

@OG_Poutine

I didn’t listen to enough John Mayer this year, my resolution is to pump those numbers up. This man just makes me feel so sereine, what an artist. I truly love you John.

@MrSepvember

Man, you are always makes me shaking my head of awe

@JumbleSaleofStimuli

he's not wrong, that line does feel great.

@michaelneppel1748

I am glad to have been able to live in the same time as John Mayer. We need more artists like him.

@robwhitaker8534

The authenticity gleams from John when he’s talking to his fans. What a guy.

@TheRealSandman

Not rhyming is something I always forget about but can be so powerful!

@6stringSimplistiQs

I have the hardest time with song writing because I never wanna sound "cliche" or like I'm recycling lyrics that were already used, and also the rhyming thing. Hard to know what is or isn't acceptable "writing theory" wise. I need to learn to just be genuine and not afraid to be cryptic, as people will always make their own interpretations of meaning. That's what's great about music.
thanks for the tips John,
😎 you're the fucking man.

@ianceasarbonachita

Building it up then eventually resolving it. I just love this man's talent in creating music.
