3 factors. 1. Italians walk everywhere. 2. Portion sizes. 3. It’s real food not filled with chemicals.
I was an exchange student in Italy when I was in highschool. The family I stayed with definetly ate tons of pizza and pasta EVERYDAY yet they were skinny. Because they don't overeat and also they do walk almost everywhere and very fast.
As an Italian, portion sizes play a big role in our diet as well as how long it takes to eat the food. Take your time and enjoy it. Go for a walk after to help digest. It’s the little things that add up to make a big difference.
We eat pasta daily lunch n dinner ! The secret is in the organic ingredients ! ❤
Hi all, I’m Italian and I think that eating and exercising to your heart’s content and listening to your body’s needs is the key to stay healthy and happy. Moreover, being skinny isn’t equal to being healthy. Given this, I try to eat balanced meals, move my body and never say no to my food desires for reasons concerned with diet culture. Let’s promote a healthy relationship with food!
I respectfully disagree. Italians eat pasta and pizza very often. They keep a balanced weight because of the good quality of the ingredients those pasta and pizza are prepared with.
I eat pasta and pizza several times a week😂 but we italians have smaller portions, and a more active lifestyle❤
Walking thru Italy would keep me fit, such a beautiful country.
Italians ofcourse don't eat just pizza and pasta but it is an exaggeration to say that pizza and pasta are rare, especially pasta. Most Italians probably eat a plate of pasta each day or every second day and a pizza once a week. The difference is what they put in the pasta and in the pizza which is far healthier and digestible than in most other places it's made.
Right quantity and quality of food. This should be the keys for everyone. And a varied diet, no need to say.
The majority of Italians (myself included) do eat pasta everyday, at lunch, sometimes at dinner but not as common
as an Italian, I've been eating pasta at least once a day for my entire life, pizza goes for Sunday dinner 😁 I think a lot of factors play a role in why Italians are so skinny. first of all, Mediterranean diet: according to many nutritionists, it's one of the healthiest diets you can follow, and Italians, or at least the majority of them, has been sticking to it since they were kids. then, Italians have smaller portions and know how to properly balance food. sure we can have Christmas/Easter meals which start at 1 pm and end at 5 pm, but those are exceptions! my usual daily meal is not that exaggerated. finally, I guess sport and physical activity plays a role? maybe this is just my experience, but my parents always educated me to think about keeping fit, to do sport (I've tried several since I was a kid) and to take care of my body, even by just going on a walk.
I lived in Italy for 8 years and used to eat at the student's refectory during my university studies. Everybody had pasta or rice for primo, followed by meat and vegetables to end with fruit or a yoghurt. That's what we had every day for lunch. Every day. And hardly anybody was overweight. We walked a lot though and the portions weren't huge.
I'm italian and I eat pasta or rice for lunch everyday, usually with vegetables and I have more than a coffee for breakfast (usually yogurt with fresh fruit). I rather pay attention to portions.
I'm Italian, I eat pasta almost every day, and pizzas often...but not big portions and I walk a lot (minimum 10.000 steps daily)... 😊
I eat pasta almost every day and I am 170cm and 52kg. So eat pasta and dont worry
Im american. Im a picky eater. I eat what i like, eat slow, stop when im full, drink mostly water, dont eat after 7pm. I eat breakfast and lunch. I dont always eat dinner if im full. I snack sometimes. I dont eat if im not hungry. Ive been a decent weight most of my life. I do moderate exercise but incorporate exercise into some other things i do.
Noppe. Italians eat pasta everyday in Italy. They are used to it and also they have a much more social life moving eating family just enjoying more. That’s how they keep the weight.
Italians eat whatever they want. The quality of their ingredients is the important factor. And they are healthy because they use olive oil on everything and walk pretty much everywhere.
