We need more "Scrolls-likes". When i search for games like Elder Scrolls the options are surprisingly low
Wow, I would have never known about this game if not for you I will definitely check this out. Looks like a game right up my alley.
Imagine understanding what gamers want and giving it to them. What a crazy concept!
It's really pretty good, I've got about 90 hours in it. Trying out different aspects, weapons and it's solid in it's mechanics. Weapons feel impactful and magic is fun to use, with a blend of oblivion, dark gothic and Elden ring vibes. It has similarities to Elder scrolls games, whilst also feeling like it's own genre. Also a note on the Third person, whilst it has been added the developers did not, create the game with Third person in mind. So whilst you can use it, it may not always feel quite right. There is a demo on steam you can try before you buy, with the first island you escape. It's been updated to 0.9 which is mostly how the game will look at general release with 1.0, if you like Elder scrolls type games you may well like this. Whilst it is an indie developer, the fact Triple A developers can't get close to this. Can't or won't give players games they want, and continue to burn down their own studio's. Indie developers really are the play these days, if you want games that are not sterile and safe. Also if you do buy the game and or try the demo, there will be one final save wipe before release on the 23rd May. So just something to be aware of, if buying the game before release.
With over 50 hrs played in the early-access .9 version, I highly recommend it. I think the lack of mod support is the only real drawback for me. Maybe next time as I'm sure the publisher will make another one.
Skyrim only had a team of about 100 when it was made. That is small by today's standards. I have over 5000 hours in Skyrim (PC with mods). Pretty much use it is a vacation home at this point. I do not go there for the story or quests. I have AFT (Amazing Follower Tweaks) and My Home is your home. So I complete Dawnguard and get Serana. Turn my Hearthfire homes into mini-fortresses complete with a pool and greenhouse. So I grab a couple followers and they have horses with custom armor. The followers have good kit and equipment as well. We dungeon crawl, making bank. Kind of like a medieval life sim.
Gonna pick this up day one looks pretty awesome!
Skyrim will always be a masterpiece
It doesn't compare to Skyrim, it directly surpases it. And the tone is indeed more akin to a souls game. The game mechanics, systems and difficulty tho, I'd say it's a healthy in-between.
Yea ill be honest here. Played the demo today on PS5 and wow. That game left me wanting more. The tone is darker and grittier then any elder scrolls games. The game has a more solid version of magic then elder scrolls. The story is interesting and the voice acting is very solid. For me, its a solid day one purchase.
I agree with u been playing this game for 2 years time not wasted IMO
Anytime I hear the "Skyrim Successor" thing I think of another thing that makes Skyrim so great that other games miss. I've played TG and I like it quite a bit. But it made me realize one if the things that makes Skyrim great. There are monsters and dungeons and dragons and evil gods and a civil war and a vampire uprising but there also places with normal townsfolk working and living and walking around just being. Most games don't have that your always in dangerous territory, the townscare diseased or destroyed or cursed. There's nowhere to just hang out and relax and do some mundane stuff for a while. That's important.
Ty for the vid I literally only knew about this yesterday. Thank god I didnt wait 2 years when it released in early access lol
You beat me to it... XD Loved this video AVV. I'm so stoked for this game dude. I'm the most excited to get a player home just to see how they do it different from other games with player homes (Mostly bethesda)
Really damn excited for this one. Couldn't believe my eyes when I found out it's running on Unity, it looks and feels so great.
I'm very much looking forward to getting this game during the Steam summer sale. I hope it lives up to my expectations.
I have been playing this in EA for some time, and the latest patches have been brilliant, it is a game you will like if you play games of the ilk. Certainly more than a gap filler waiting for TES 6
Have you played Enderal?
I know that they have stated that the third person mode isn't ideal, it's literally what I can't wait for the most! I thought the screenshots they showed for it were incredible!
