In the 70s my dad worked for skunk works. I remember when the Pentagon released the photos of the f117 on TV and I ran into my dad's room to wake him up about the announcement. He looked at me and said, looks like they have something better in development. He went back to sleep.

From Up State NY..... AWESOME News! Been anticipating this 6th GEN jet for the past 20 years. Lockheed's SR-71 retired in the later 1990's. Please note, just like the US Navy has its F-14 Tomcat ( See Top Gun 1 ), and the US Army has its F-15 Eagle, and the US Air Force has its F-16 Fighter, it appears there will be TWO US Military, Fighter Jet aircraft, that will have the 6th Generation, NGAD, designations. It appears the US Navy is Independently pursuing its own 6th Generation, NGAD, Jet fighter from Boeing. It is the F/A XX and it appears to have similarities to the F-47, however, just like the F-35A and F-35B and F35C Lightening, have their own Specific Designs, for each Branch of the Service, the same approach is probably happening with Boeing's 6th Generation NGAD, for the US Navy.
