For anybody wondering, card grading is based on the centering of a card, or in other words how close the middle of the Pokémon’s art is to the middle of the card, it also is based on the condition of the card like if it has a bend or white spot on the edges. There is a few other factors I think but those are the 2 biggest ones. Hope this helps anybody curious. 👍

For those who don’t know many and by many I mean thousands of cards have been re-submitted for grading and received higher grades. I’m other words instead of using a computer program and scanner to judge the cards it’s completely up to some random employee and how they feel that day / how much control they want to have over a particular card. I recommend not grading your cards and just keeping them. A new grading company will come along eventually and make this fare for everyone

Just a quick tip! Try not to rub the cards too harshly when going through them. I once met someone who grades cards professionally, and they mentioned that some cards that could’ve been 10s ended up as 9s or even 8s just because of how they were handled right out of the pack. For example, when you revealed the Blastoise card, it looked like it rubbed noticeably against the other card — that kind of friction can actually cause surface damage. Just wanted to share in case it helps for future pulls!

They need to start including a list of the card’s discrepancies to show proof of why the card got the grade it did. It feels like with older cards there is some biased against giving it a 10. Like the grader is saying “I can’t find anything wrong with it but it’s older so it can’t be a 10”

Looked like a 9 to me before the reveal. There's a clear white dot, on the back of the card, top-left corner edge. PSA wouldn't miss it.
