Ads in a payed for game is pathetic
Remember that old futurama episode? If they could do it in your dreams too, they would.
Please Gabe. Find a worthy succesor.
Gabe is such a hero. Recently in the Philippines, the government implemented a 12% tax on all digital purchases, which of course includes games on steam. But Gabe decided that steam would shoulder those taxes so that PH players would only pay for the game price itself. 👏👏
Activision saying ads were implemented in error, is like saying everything coming out about P. Diddy is just a misunderstanding. Their lies are so blatantly obvious, it's painful.
2:19 Isn’t this what the movie “Ready player one” warned about?? Major corporation trying to stick the max amount of ads to make money…
A year or so ago, I decided that if I get forced ads in *anything*, I immediately discontinue the use of that thing unless an adblocker is available. Then, I'll go do something else. Let me tell you, my house, my yard, my kitchen, my health has never been so good. Things are clean and I'm FAR happier. It's not just about refusing ads, but doing so got me out of the media rut I was in and really ripped the blinders off.
The reason the xbox handheld was put on hold cuz some testers noticed the batery life is longer when they use linux instead of windows , wich is hilarious
Gabe is True modern philosopher. He got money, got company, self made guy. But still he believes in something more important than all this microtransaction ads and nft shit. One problem, he is not immortal...
Borderlands 2 currently has a huge ad for borderlands 4 at the top of the screen that takes up an uncomfortable amount of the screen and even cuts off part of your character and blocks out a good bit of the background
Long live Gabe Newell and Steam!
Its crazy how these mistake updates are somehow always connected to getting player money but there is never any oopsies that end up being improvements.
They’ll start small, only one ad per match, then it’ll be 30 extra ads during the match, then they’ll “sell” the solution by making you pay an overpriced premium to have ads removed. Do not give them a millimeter
Remember, sometimes the "Supporters" are paid to "Support".
Funny how once it causes backlash, it's apparently an "error"
Steam is in a situation where they’re kinda in a natural monopoly over the PC gaming market. But unlike most monopolies they didn’t really force themselves into this position. They didn’t gain it by slashing prices or by making exclusive deals that screw everyone else. They did it by offering a better service, with better benefits to both developers and consumers that none of the more greedy companies can match. They made their billions via the grace of their customers, not by being the only choice
Kinda funny how often that happens. Something exceedingly greedy gets pushback, and then suddenly oh "whoops it was an accident that it got into the game".
3:45 it was indeed a test, to see if they would get away with it...
Big Brother, I mean, the gaming industry, is facing a revolution.
