I truly cannot imagine anything (realistic) that I would suffer more from than having to carry a xylophone, dance, and play the thing all at the same time. But xylophone girl looks like she's having the time of her life
I was part of the University of Oregon marching band when we were in the Rose Parade two years after them...I gotta say that they put on a much more impressive display. I'll talk up my Ducks all day but dancing like that while playing that well is actually an incredible feat, serious respect to all of them
as a drummer (bass in drum line) you have NO IDEA how athletic this is. when they played happy i was in awe at how the bass section was still perfectly choreographed with brass and woodwind. my Yamaha is 2l0bs of detortion and i can barely walk down with the band during a parade sometimes.
These are HIGH SCHOOLERS?? They're performing like actual professionals! They are phenomenal!
The fact that some can hold a heavy instrument for so long and walk, dance and march at the same time... incredible. I could barely hold a toothpick sitting down.
As a trumpet player for 35 years I have to say this is damn impressive. That you can keep a quality sound while landing from a jump is amazing. As is your stamina to do it for 30 minutes non-stop.
座ったまま30分吹くのもめちゃくちゃ辛いし、唇切れるくらいなのに、この人たち踊りながら歩いて笑顔で手振って吹いてる😇😇
just one drummer to carry the whole band and her timing is impeccable.
The uniform is so adorable, reminds me of pumpkin pie.
The culmination of top physical endurance, musical training, countless weeknights and weekend sacrifices and parental support. They've even gone to the Tournament of Roses parade. Excellence.
I spent four years on Okinawa living among the Japanese and Okinawans, and they were very friendly toward me. I spent a week at a local Junior High School called Kubasaki school and at first I was terrified, but they found me to be fascinating and informative. They wanted to know so much about how Americans lived in 1965. It turned out to be the best learning experience of my life. At lunch they served hot white rice and green tea. I asked for some sugar for my tea and some ice. They just laughed. It was embarrassing at first until I drank the tea and ate the rice. They were unlike anything I had ever eaten or drank. I'm impressed with this High school band. Amazing talent.
I have absolutely no connection with this band or the school, but I'm so damn proud of these kids.
As a musician I can understand how hard it can be to walk while playing on an instrument. Hats off to these kids!
damn as someone who was a symphonic band nerd (clarinet) throughout high school I can't even comprehend how they could play wind instruments so cleanly while literally jumping around and dancing. any misalignment of embouchure can drastically change tone and pitch. the amount of practice they must have put in is insane
I was a trombonist in an Award Winning marching band in High School, and there’s no way 1) we ever sounded this good instrument by instrument, 2) performed these intricate steps while playing. We had to learn the music by memory, then we incorporated the marching steps afterwards. These women are so very good it’s a joy to hear and see them combining all elements beautifully and joyfully. Thank you 🙏 for sharing!

the way they just do everything so neatly makes me look at my high school and think they didn't even try
I'm 67 years old and seen many marching band performances but never seen one at the level these students are doing. Absolutely the best I've ever seen.
When I was a child in the 1980s, these bands were common in Brazilian schools, they paraded on Independence Day, but today it is rare to see them here. Congratulations to these girls! I was happy to see that they played a Brazilian song: "Festa do Interior".
