My paternal paiute ancestor on my Moms side helped Sitting Bull free natives from concentration camps. PBS did a special ( YEARS AGO) me and my grandma watched and she was like thats my grandfather - she didnt know he was gonna be in it - it was happenstance to see - she didnt have portraits of him that we had, she just knew his face. They were twins

Finally! This looks awesome. One of my favorite books is called "Sitting Bull: Champion of the Sioux" and its a telling of his life's story, including his hand-drawn autobiography. This doco is prolly gonna disappoint because its from the modern history channel and not the og channel I grew up with, but I'll still check it out.. Usually its all drama and not enough raw facts and information, but with this story its already packed full of drama so I dont know how they could screw it up, especially with Decaprio onboard.

I am Serbian, and I remember my father kept telling me so often while we watched Westerns, that the Natives are the only real Americans, that they are very brave and strong people, very nature loving and understanding, and that we Serbs share one thing with them: we have been invaded and attacked so many times, but we never totally surrendered. All love and respect to the Indigenous people of America, the real American's! ❤️

Crazy Horse "led" the Indians in battle at Little Big Horn (saying anybody led Indian warriors is not really accurate since they each made their own decision to fight). Sitting Bull was not the war chief. I only mention this because Crazy Horse doesn't get the credit he deserves. I wish they would do a movie about him.
