@ninja1676

This is actually mad respect, even when two countries have tension the respect and honors given is respect to all of us as human beings.

@skipads5141

All the respect in the world to Gagarin, flying up in a little tin can where no one had ever been.

@heidirabenau511

It sounds normal at 0.75x speed!

@shaneabreu9271

True science ignores politics and respects all noble pioneers in their field.

@Ammiethyst

For those who don't know, Gagarin (and the other potential cosmonauts) were flight testers. A decade or so after his flight into space, Gagarin tragically crashed in one of the flight tests.

@AtomicExtremophile

Komarov had a nasty end, but was a hero...he knew the ship - Soyuz 1- was flawed, but also knew if he didn't fly the mission his friend Gagarin would have to. Komarov kind of accepted he'd die.

@arthurford2362

Gagarin haven't died because of the space mission. He died because he has crashed in a trial flight on Mig-15 (he was not the pilot)

@BruceNewhouse

The Russian space agency has a park with monuments to cosmonauts and astronauts. They actually have significant and permanent tributes to all the U.S. astronauts and had the Challenger crew’s before any existed in the U.S.

@JeremyWhalen.

Even during war, those who have respect for one another will always persevere and thrive

@dollabz777

I did not know this. What a beautiful gesture

@alexiscastro5055

Mutual respect, that’s nice.

@TeoCH31

I honestly feel sad for Komarov. He basically sacrificed himself so Gagarin could live. Soyuz (the craft he tested) became the only way to get to the ISS for around 15 years.

@abrahamel-gothamy6472

Mhmm love that display of humanity. Why can’t we get a little more cooperation like that these days?

@lokesharma1

I feel so good to have seen and heard Gagarin when he visited India and seeing Neil Armstrong around 1969. I still remember clearly Neil Armstrong greeting my mother with a Namaste from his slow moving car .

@heidirabenau511

Bro sped up by almost 2x!

@Makkis

The beef was between the politicians, not the scientists.

@JustSapoetra

Now this is very good to hear. Even in the risk of a huge war they still respect each other

@ShubhamPatil-cb8dk

"the actual photo on the medals on moon may look different" , like I am gonna go check and sue this bro

@electricerger

I think Space Force described it best: Science is an international fraternity. They care more about the advancement of humanity than boarders.

@troybujnowski1695

It's called being a genuine human being!! Much RESPECT AMERICA
