This is the way of living that I grew up in. So simple, no bills to pay, just pure quality of life. I wish you both unlimited happiness.
Samoan here, the fibrous husk the lady is using to scrub the dishes with, we do the same. We use a separate coconut scrub to wash our bodies with. Use another one as a strainer (to extract coconut shreds from the milk/cream). Coconut is a versatile and sustainable plant life and we love using it in every day life. 🥥♥️
Most of the people that want to move to an island to live, want to do so in “ luxury”. You two are doing an amazing job! House is fabulous
I'm Indonesian, I'm 18, I live in a village in a mountainous area with high rainfall and a very short summer, but I really like it. Someday I want to build a simple house far from the crowds, to live independently and enjoy life in my own way
I have been living alone for 4 years on a 21 ha shrimp pond in the middle of a mangrove forest. I cultivate shrimp, raise goats, chickens and Muscovy ducks. I also plant vegetables and other fruit plants. In my hut, I do not use electricity (lighting) at night, nor do I have a TV. The atmosphere on my farm is quiet, but calming and peaceful. I only go to the village by boat occasionally to shop and sell garden produce and eggs. My closest neighbor is 900 m from my hut
An's craftmanship is amazing. Wow.
As someone who is Filipino and had the privilege to experience this type of living as a 'holiday off-grid experience' in several virgin islands in the Philippines.... I honestly give them both props, especially her. Cause if you haven't grown in that environment it's a steep curve to get used to.
That new house is gorgeous! What a life you two have built. ❤
You guys are living in a piece of paradise. The ocen looks very clean and beautiful.
The house, my compliments. Wonderful craftsmanship. Looks like an extraordinary life. The secrets simplicity offers many seek in complexity.
This is how human beings supposed to live, in nature and peace, this modern life is oppression and lot's of depression, everything we eat contains dangerous chemicals, not even clean air to breath anymore, people are working hard to afford to make a living, I am happy that your have found your freedom and peace, this is what I am hoping to achieve soon, ❣
Though it is a beautiful setting it seems like a very hard life and too isolating for me. But I must say, I was completely taken aback by the beauty and quality of the home that he built. I was expecting a much more rustic and basic home. It looks like a professional builder built it. And when you consider the challenges of getting the materials to where they are, it truly is pretty incredible.
They look healthy and happy.... almost like a glow about them. (food and daily life as should be)
Your self-reliant lifestyle on a remote tropical island is truly impressive. Embracing off-grid living as a couple showcases your resilience and commitment to sustainability. Your harmonious connection with nature sets an inspiring example for others. And I Am Floating Village Life
Dear Marjolein, From your accent I could immediately make out you`re from Belgium! :-) What a beautiful and inspiring life you have created with your husband! The new house looks stunning! All the best of luck to both of you from a fellow Belgian who also moved to a different part of the world! Warm greetings from Egypt!
I love when she said “everything has spirit…not only human but also tree, animal even our house”👍
Its been three years since I retired, and while inflation has made it challenging to maintain my lifestyle and even worse when I lived in the city, relocating to the countryside has helped to manage better, its lonely, as most of my friends and family are still in their routines but It's been easier to stretch my savings and hopefully, I won't outlive it
Oh my gosh, you guys are amazing! Such freedom is not easy, but it's soo rewarding! God bless you both! Be happy and enjoy life to the fullest!
That is definitely an impressive lifestyle, with so much useful knowledge of generations past being put to use, as well. Not an easy lifestyle, but one that's wonderfully connected to nature in many ways. I wish the best for them, always!
