My wife and I first went to Vung Tau in Dec 2000 staying at Back Beach near Sammy's Hotel. We returned several times last visiting there in 2010. I remember it was much longer walking up the statue than I had expected so you give good advice. Your video brings back fond memories and also shows some changes. Weekends were much more crowded with day trippers from HCM city so I recommend staying there on weekdays if possible. Hoping to go back for a visit next year and stay at Front Beach.
I would visit there. I visited northern Vietnam before but would love to see the south. I appreciate your father's service.
Great video thanks so much for taking the time to make it. I think I will make Vungtau my new home!
That's a nice destination! We missed it when we stayed in Southern Viet Nam, but now I want to go back and visit! Thanks for the video as always :)
I would love to go up into the arms of the Christ statue!! I bet that would be such a cool experience! Thanks for sharing 😊
Another great video - it's almost like being there. Thank you.
Glad I found your channel. Thanks for visiting Vietnam. Keep up The great work. Look forward to seeing mang more of your exciting adventures
Great video, but let me correct a few things. I've lived in Vung Tau for 5+ years. The temperature doesn't average in the 90's year round. It is only that hot for 6 months of the year. 6 months of the year, it's in the low to mid 80's. Average monthly rent is between $300 to $400, plus utilities. There are several VIP van services that take you or picks you up directly to or at the airport.
I enjoyed watching this and you give plenty of information. I am visiting there myself in a couple of weeks.
Quality video. Vung tao is my birthplace. I will return one day soon
We plan to visit Southern Vietnam next year. Fortunately, the 90 day visa is available so we can visit several destinations during that time. It's great to get some ideas about where to visit other than Saigon. I also appreciate your recommendations for transportation from place to place. Safe travels guys.
I briefly visited Vang Tau ten years ago and you have showed me here much more than I experienced. Thanks for your great video and sharing your experiences. I definitely want to go back to Vung Tau now.
I liked Vung Tau. I visited this area in 2023. Walked the steps up and into the Jesus statue. Beach is a little trashy. But still a decent beach. Water was warm like bath water. A few months later I came back and got married. Living in Saigon ever since. Great video.
Good overall video. I have fond memories of my time in Vung Tau during my work posting for 1 1/2 years between 2021 and 2023. While I managed to get basic Vietnamese into my vocab, definitely needed to learn more. Language aside, it's definitely a place to retire if you like the rustic/slower paced life like me.
Good, tightly edited video, to the point. I had you on 1.3x speed, but one of the better youtube holiday posts, eschewing shots of airports, elevators and hotel rooms
What an interesting video! I have never heard of this place, and it was very cool to see what is available close to HCMC. I really found the stuff with your Father super interesting as well. It is remarkable how many of that generation spent time fighting in the War in Vietnam. Thanks again for another great video.
Looks like an interesting side trip from HCMC. Love that Emily found her kitchen namesake.
how would you say it compares to a beach place in thailand. i usually go to hua hin
Amazing video. Will spend 2 weeks in February as part of my sabbatical there. Any chance you could recommend me a website for the boat trip? Will arrive around 8PM local time so would like to find some options to get down to VT.
