Emmett’s mother refused to close his casket for his funeral. She wanted people to see the brutal way her son was treated. Human beings deserve no mercy for such hate.

I watched the movie Till when it came out, left the theater in tears. He was only 14, if things had been different and maybe in a later time, the poor baby would’ve been in his freshman year of highschool, playin a sport in the schoolyard or the like. He never got to grow up, and unfortunately so did many others we’ve never heard stories of. That’s what breaks me. They never got to see what happened next

I was obsessed with this story as a kid, ever since i found about it in school. I literally researched everything. From the shack Emmet was tortured in, to how they abducted him from his house during the night. How they tied a heavy object around his body so he would sink, how they knocked all his teeth out. I think they even knocked a eyeball out of his socket. It was brutal & animalistic. I tried to put myself in Emmett shoes. His pain, the confusion, the fear. The dread when he knew he was going to die. It makes me extremely angry how this lady essentially lied for no reason what so ever. It wasn't for money, or any gain. Just loss. Even more so how they were aquitted. I can't comprehend how any normal human, would allow these freaks to walk free. Wheres the humanity? Wheres the love? Wheres the empathy? Just cause his skin was dark?.... What a joke & a disgrace to the human race. sometimes im disgusted to be apart of this species called homo sapiens. i would rather be any other intelligent life form out there. I feel disgusted by our History. Maybe its better if went extincted alot earlier in history. Then Emmett wouldn't have suffered this fate. Im scared of a Forgiving God, because these 3 demons do not deserve forgiveness. I hope they suffer like Emmett did. I hope the demons in hell torture them forever. They say to hate the sin, not the person. But thats a load of crap. Some people do not deserve salvation. Im getting emotional writing this. This brought back so much memories. So many injustices has happened in our society. Should i blame the devil or humans, this stuff, it makes the brightest soul turn cold. It becomes so hard not to become hateful. But sometimes you have to catch yourself falling into that pit of darkness & say "Don't let the darkness consume you, thats how it spreads & grows, it will only make the world a worse place. Be a beacon of light" "If there is a God, they will have to beg for my Foregiveness"

I had a history teacher who went over the 1900s & we went over this story for a full week, even did an art piece to boot, but lost it when covid closed school, this poor kid's story is horrifying, I hope his mother is resting well, nothing but injustice

Emmet Till should be 81 years old in 2024, enjoying retirement with his loved ones, but his life was taken too soon.

I had heard of Emmett Till’s story while reading Claudette Colvin and I cannot express how disgusted, disturbed, and how sad I felt for this innocent young man. The things that white people would do to any other coloured person was sick back then and still is now. Emmett had never whistled to the lady, she confessed the day of his funeral that he never did and this goes to show how cruel people can truly be. No person should ever have to go through this and even now the way people are treated just because of the way they look or their disabilities they may have is sick. I give my best condolences to his family and anyone who had ever gone through anything, remember you are loved, you are needed, and you are worth it. Don’t let what someone says to you bring you down and learn to rise up and be better than them for all of you are powerful, beautiful, and so much more ❤️
