Not wives but in France women who slept/had relations with Nzis were publicly mocked by shaving their hair

@arnaultdamian4504

I wonder how many we don't know about that got away without a punishment

@halcyonhominum

If you think she had the worst fate, you should talk to the people whose skin she used for lampshades.

Edit: Since so many people commented that this story might be a myth, I dug and found out it might be one, but there are two reliable sources who say otherwise. I understand that two sources isn't much and this story might not be true. I also would like to say that after hearing so many painful and horrific events from the holocaust, you just believe in stories to be true because of how far the Nazis went with their ways of violence and hatred for the Jews. I apologise if this isn't true and I've just believed it to be. But I do not think that Nazi/Nazi wives deserved a peaceful death. Whatever happened to her is quite "okay" compared to what her husband and the people she supported did to the Jews.

I Read book called Windswept Lies of War a few nights ago and still can’t shake it. Some truths cut deep when you’re not ready for them.

@obamahimself2885

I absolutely hate that transition sound effect. There’s no need to use it every three seconds.

@lauracastanon2415

My great grandma lived through World War 2. And she's still alive, turning 100 in march 22

Edit: tysm for all the likes and also ty for the sweet comments 💗

What history never tells anyone is all the crimes that the allies did to surrendered people. Like how many thousands of innocent German women were gang raped and shot dead if they gave any resistance. History is always written by the winners, to make them look like perfect angels.

@rigormortisno1fan

how did hitler hve a sidekick named himmler

@Gravy222

Do you know what is worse? There are innocent women that faced far worse and we dont know

@Asahamana

Lina Heydrich would later on marry a Finnish theater manager to change her Suriname. Marriege only lasted For five years when her new husband died of pneumonia.

@ADobbin1

why were they punished for the crimes of their husbands? If they were doing their own evil stuff like Ilse Koch then fine, but simply being a wife?

@applepie1126

-becomr married to a man who did awful things
-gets punished even though its only the man doing the things

What a great world we live in.

@sarasmith8432

From what I know, Nazis actually didn't make lamp shades out of skin and other furniture, there was maybe one lamp shade and it was mostly soviet propaganda. USSR wanted the Nazis to look even worse (which is not that hard, they were monsters) so there are countless stories about furniture out of skin, and female nazis in consecration camps havung sex with prisoners (prisoners is a very light word, but I couldn't find better at the moment). Of course If you think I was wrong I wold appreciate a comment.

@mol830

I don't think Germany was incorrect in punishing these women, especially the one who had proven to choose people to die. I find it interesting though that the wives were punished for their husbands crimes..I've never heard of a man being punished for his wife's crimes. Which I always thought made sense because the wives hadn't done anything criminal (apart from the proven one obviously). Very interesting historical fact.

@thephilarmy5

Love the lampshades and soap stories 😂😂

@makoderii3472

Last one is a lie, they checked the lampshades and no one is made out of human skin.

@flame9826

You forgot about Goering's wife. She drank cyanide and kissed Goering, killing both in a, let's be honest, pretty romantic way.

@jamese5936

It really is disgusting just how much mercy was shown to some of these monsters just because they were women. Had she been a man she would've never gotten life in prison.
