It took me 3 years to realize - the symbolism is for Katy Perry. The veil, the butterflies. The use of guitar and piano. He still loved Katy. At the end of “Wide Awake,” Katy releases a butterfly. At the end of “Still Feel Like Your Man,” John holds the butterfly in his hands. He can’t let go of her. Wow.

The sadness of the lyrics contrasted with the happiness of the music is almost as surreal as the video. I love the line... "I still keep your shampoo in my shower in case you want to wash your hair." Love hurts! You have to have had your heart broken to write a line like that! Great work John Mayer.

I can't believe how after all these years he comes up with so many concepts and rhythm an non are a disappoint. I am not sure if I admire him or if I'm secretly jealous. I hope one day to be able to master my composition skills to be at least 50% at his level. With that I would be happy for life.
