For those who want to know more about Tatta's backstory. When he was 18, he dropped out of school and dreamed of becoming successful. He was determined to do better than his father who died of anxiety, and to no longer be a financial burden on his mother. His plan was to become a comedian and appear on television. His mother, however, didn't have any faith in him, but that didn't stop him from pursuing his dreams. Tatta always tried to stay optimistic whenever he could, believing that he could get by just by being upbeat and vigorous.

He lined up three part-time job interviews, one of those jobs being that car manufacturer we see in the show. He even invested money into taking courses on how to become successful. However, everyone else kept discouraging and putting him down, saying his ideas were trash and embarrassing. Despite how many people told him he wasn't cut out for that line of work, despite all of his friends going to college, Tatta still tried to keep his hopes up and continued to chase his dream, to accomplish something big in his life.

Drowned in nothing but insults, each day was another of self-denial. He started relying on his mother to spot him some money, the very thing he didn't want to do. Eventually, all of his friends abandoned him, pursuing their own futures while he was left alone with his dream nowhere in reach. His mother soon got fed up with him asking for money and cut him off. In the end, he never achieved his goal to become successful, but instead became lonely and forgotten. His part-time job became full-time. In an attempt to do better than his father, he just ended up doing worse. Tatta tried his hardest in life, but he wasn't good enough in the end. Then he went to the Borderlands.

These were Tatta's final thoughts before he died: "I did it! In the final of final moments, I did it! Even someone as useless as me can do it if they try. I think now I can understand how Shitara felt, putting his life on the line for his friends. Arisu, you have no idea how much your simple words saved me. I also... thank you..."

@bt21rj68

The fact that Karube and Chota died in Episode 3 (Season 1), it's such a coincidence that Tatta also died in Episode 3 (Season 2).

@rox2001

im actually impressed he made it this far. when he was introduced in the second episode during the tag game, i thought he was going to be the new guy that hopelessly dies, but he somehow found his way to the beach before the main characters and he sacrificed himself to let the team win.

@Rasupubegasu

You've got to hand it to him. What he did was brave and heroic.

@notomlt

UR TELLING ME HE DIES FROM THIS BUT THAT ONE MF LIVES FALLING FROM LIKE 3 STORIES ON FIRE??

@frankintherank4003

this shit got me crying

@om4529

Did you guys also notice that the cap he was wearing had a lucky clover on it and underneath was written "lucky clover" 🍀 what a legend. He died a hero. He really is a lucky clover.

@MagnificentGamer2000

Ball in tears and scream when Tatta died, like this scene hurts 💔 a lot.
He was one of my favorite characters!!!
Wish he stayed alive till the end.

@mello2238

When you did so heroic sacrifice that even villain has to acknowledge you for saving his life😔 rip tata, I cried second time in whole time❤

@meuwu6348

I get Tatta, and I feel so bad for him for it. He's that kind of guy who just wants to be useful too, who wants to be needed and make others proud of him. But in the real world, he didn't fit on his job or any other workplace, and it's worse when he's prone to make lot of mistakes when he feels trapped on a job he doesn't want, like when he accidentally hurted his boss hand (that why he got the idea to destroy his own hand, btw). And inside Borderlands, he was not extraordinary like Arisu, Chishiya and Ann, who are geniouses or like Kuina and Usagi, who have excellent physical abilities/combat training. He was just a guy, and he tried to be as optimistic, gentle and funny as he could not only because it was his nature, but because he probably felt it was the only thing he could apport to the team to avoid feeling like a burden. But that's just a distraction.
When they play this game, Niragi constantly blames him and tells him what he think everyone else don't want to say bc of pure kindness; that he's useless and guilt for making everyone lose. That was the moment when he probably lose his will to live. Maybe, if he wanted to, he could've escaped with them and healed, but he didn't want to. He did one great thing and wanted to be remembered like that, not to keep living to see himself turn into a burden again.

Idk, I'm just blabering, but that's why I felt. And I was so happy when Arisu told him he appreciated his positive personality in the worst moments. And when he thanked him for remaining cheerful and make them feel better when they were in their lowest. I'm sure he died feeling truly loved and appreciated for the first time in so many years. He's such a personal character to me :(

@meganbella8262

One of the saddest moments. Tatta was a good person. He died a hero ❤

@holohulolo

I feel so sad that he had to sacrifice himself like that, I thought you can just dislocate you thumb to remove that bracelet. At the very most use that door jam his own thumb, but they went and break the whole hand so that he can squeeze the bracelet out.

@patkundesu

Usagi: How did we win?
Kuina: Arisu must have pulled something off

Yeah, he pulled Tatta's hand

@corbans5796

So Tatta bleeds out after 5 to 10 minutes because he broke his hand, but akane gets shot with an assault rifle, then crawls around for a couple hours and is fine...

And that's not to mention Hikari or Niragi or Chisnya..

@rogerjohn7762

even Tatta needed a hand to remove his hand

@jonathandiaz4997

24 months ago 😢😮

@Cobrakaiii2

I saw someone complaining here that akane heiya got magdumped and lived yet tatta "broke his hand" and died, and whilst it was very biased that other characters died to a not all that fatal hit but she survived being magdumped by an assault rifle from up close, she only had to survive a little bit, and ik it was half an hour but ig she's a main character? it was their decision not mine guys so don't complain about what I say.
but onto the point, tatta died because first off he heavily broke his hand by smashing it with a heavy container door, then got arisu to slam it into his wrist, and remember its easier for someone else to do it because they don't have survival instinct that stops them from damaging someone else, and he literally charged into his wrist with it. then tatta forced the wrist sized bracelet down his hand which would have broken it even worse, and was left to bleed for a good few minutes. the reason he bled out so fast is because there's an artery in your wrist, and is that gets damaged, you will bleed to death very fast, that's why sewerslidal people cut their wrist.

@straykidsrealll

I love him:(

@15x_

Man after pervy sage's death in naruto this is the first time a character moved me so much... this is best show I've watched on netflix so far (yea i haven't watched many before)

@kujas

Good thing he’s still alive outside borderland just like Chouta and Karabe.
