THANK YOU. I was going crazy thinking that hp inflation isn't the only way of measuring powercreep. Some enemies in genshin are so annoying and specific that it feels less like a challenge and more of a nuisance.

This recent abyss has been a mechanic check and it’s really shown who learned how a boss actually works and who hasn’t. Even I’m a bit guilty of this. Saw pyro traveler clear every check on side two and went “oh yeah, that would work, wouldn’t it?”

I have to disagree on HSR's superbreak analysis. Superbreak was pretty much the most f2p friendly team possible on release. The enabler, harmony Trailblazer was free and the f2p Herta shop weapon is also perfectly fine for Firefly. The sustain was also a 4 star character that was given out for free multiple times in events. Ruan Mei was probably the only necessary premium investment needed for Firefly, but you could even replace her with someone like a 4 star Asta. Also, there were 6 months between the introduction of super break and the release of 3.0, so I wouldn't call that "immediately". But you are absolutely right about 3.0+ characters. It does seem like they only made the new path to make new characters' weapons mandatory to pull and I'm not buying into this either.

So your example of 'feature' creep in HSR wasn't Acheron's technique making farming infinitely easier, or Ruan Mei and Herta's technique making Simulated Universe and it's variants infinitely easier, or Castorice's global passive, but how DOT got 'powercrept' by Superbreak, who mind you requires less premium options than DOT to make the team good, and gave even worse examples like Firefly and Boothill needing their LCs who at launch didn't need them at all, as well as Firefly specifically whose LC you displayed in your video, being arguably one of the most skippable LC in HSR history because you can easily replace it with Fall of the Aeon a Freely obtainable LC. Heck the superbreak team literally worked with Firefly, Harmony MC(free character), Ruan Mei and Lingsha, and could carry you through entirety of the 2.3-3.0 without pulling any of their LCs.

I am all for bashing on HSR for their powercreep, but you have no clue what you're talking about man.

most of the so-called “nightsoul” bosses can actually be dealt with faster using high elemental application characters—not even natlan ones. characters like xingqiu, fischl, yaoyao (her burst), pyro traveler, and reactions like burning, overload, electro-charged, and bloom all get the job done easily.

mavuika only needs one natlan character in the team, and both kachina and ororon—who were given out for free, by the way—can do the job without any issue. yes, she's the strongest character we have, and that's for a reason. she's literally the ARCHON OF WAR... but is this level of power actually needed to clear content that 4☆ characters from 1.0 patch can clear? Obviously not.

what i do agree with is that hsr has a noticeable powercreep problem, and wuwa struggles more with character dependency.

Of all the valid examples of feature creep you could have mentionned about Hsr, you chose to give one that showed how ignorant you are about the game.
Firefly notoriously has a very f2p LC option in the form of "Fall of an aeon" to the point many never pulled her sig, Fugue is still considered by many as a sidegrade to HMC (the free MC form) and Gallaghar (a 4 star) is so good that many skipped Lingsha because they already had him.
At least do your research first next time.

None of those examples are really what's refered to "feature creep" those are new team archetypes. Sure they are getting more and more niche but it's expected in games like GI that's on it's 5th year, HSR was bare bones in 1.x with no real team building the issue here wasn't that DoT got powercreep but rather that they introduced too many different archetypes and scaled the numbers too high up too fast which made the players feel overwhelmed and lastly Wuwa yes it's again an example of a new archetype but unlike the previous 2 Wuwa hasn't even advance the difficulty to the point of even coming close to demanding people to get new units you can clear everything with Jinshi and Jiyan still if you know what you're doing.

I get that you are trying to pick a part an issue but you mixed your points and went back to the whole powercreep discussion which has been render moot for the usual dead horse (HSR) since all units released in the current year are performing at the same level with the only difference being whoever is being shilled clears 1 cycle faster.

a reminder that wuwa has only become a year old and it already has very limiting character,hsr powercreep start becoming noticable when ruan mei first came out and rememberance first released is before their 2nd year anniv,genshin only start doing this in natlan and they are in their 4th year approaching 5th and is still in the manageable side of powercreep somehow

I was taking you seriously for the entire wuwa section because I don't know the game, then I got a hint something wasn't exactly honest when you were talking about a boss mechanic that "punishes" players when they don't bring the shiny new unit because i was remembered of how casuals are dissing papilla/lava dragon/source automaton/wolflord/etc... because they can't bother to learn the mechanics and play units everyone have the right way, and then I heard "mavuika needs at least 3 natlan characters to burst in every rotation", which is straight up lying, if anyone was wondering.  The downfall was pretty quick.
That being said, players need to be aware of those marketing strategies, but your rant lacks rectitude. Also, the most efficient way to boycott those companies is just to quit the games, not to cry and keep buying BPs.

The Advantage you have with REAL Games is that you can make every playable Character pretty strong with all the Resources you have right of the Bat or need to unlock/craft them. And there's no stupid Powercreep or FOMO Bullshit that forces you to pay for anything. This is the shit that makes Gacha Games predatory and just awful. Not even for WuWa can you defend this if that continues.

To be fair, their (Gacha in general) business model is to lock unnecessary power behind a paywall. Can you clear without a character specific weapon and they premium team options? In most cases yes. Is it going to be hard potentially requiring multiple tries or significantly more skill on your part, yes. But that's literally the business model.
