@carlandrewbradbrook7669

Matt I've done a LOT of abseiling rope work and highly suggest to send one of your crew on a Rope Work/Climbing/Mountaineering course to keep you all safe. Add some "Harnesses and Dynamic Rope + Karibiners" to your equipment. Anyone working that edge should be "roped in". Blessings to you and your crew!

@ronwilken5219

Matt, I've done some sketchy tower climbing and rigging in my earlier life, but NEVER without a basic lineman's belt. You, basically absailing down that clifface, just holding on with bare hands, was nuts. I'm sure if Jaimie had been on scene, she'd have had plenty to say about it. You owe it to her, your family, and your crews to get at least a couple of safety harneses in each rig for scenes such as this. Just think what they would have had to witness if you had, lost your footing, lost your grip, or any of a half dozen reasons for you to tumble A over T down that slope and then THEY have to rescue YOU from the crevasse at the bottom.
PLEASE TAKE CARE ?
As an ex roofer I'd have thought that safety gear would be mandatory and first in your mind and training if UOSH had, had any part in your life.

@jrbrumley9334

Matt, I have to say that you guys are stumbling around at the top of the ravine(cliff) and wearing hard-soled boots that literally have no traction really had me getting pretty anxious for you. Glad you all made it out alive! Thanks for taking us along (I think!).

@randallday7737

All the years I've been watching this is the most insane recovery. I'm hoping in the future we see some safety harnesses.๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

@mikemullay5622

This recovery is nuts. And the driver is extremely fortunate to be alive. Matt, I hope you are reading the comments regarding this rescue. I believe most of these folks suggesting ropes, harnesses and training have your best interest at heart. Risking your crew (your own kids) unnecessarily to save a pile of junk doesn't seem wise.

@JeffBilkins

We can complain about the tow points on these things but at least the cage, seats and straps worked pretty good.

@lildogy

This is a death waiting to happen. Safety on this job was out the window. Between multiple people being below it in the canyon, repelling without a harness, etc... as a Firefighter, I would highly recommend you have a trained safety officer in charge of every recovery working with the incident commander (Matt) to ensure safety. Machine is already a loss, no need to add a loss of life to that Tally. Also, recommend a high angle rescue and ropes course training for at least 2 individuals for these types of incidents. Nobody is perfect, but no machine is worth an injury to anyone.

@bjamngirl

That WAS A COMPLETE MIRACLE ON ALL FRONTS! For that guy to survive that fall, and Matt and crew not getting hurt, or worse, was miraculous.

@JanetDavies-me4cx

As former UK Coastguard cliff rescue officer I second all those who say safety harness are a must for this sort of work.

@markallan4849

One of your rescue videos just popped up on my YouTube, and after 30 seconds of taking a look, I enjoyed the whole thing. I'm now back two or three years working my way up to the present time. You could say I'm hooked. I enjoy seeing such a wonderful, close-knit family working together and enjoying what they do. With such crazy S going on in our Country these days, your videos relax me and bring me back to a good place in my younger years. I thank all of you for this little bit of peace each day. Blessings your way! ๐Ÿ™

@woodenswordsword118

I love Matt's off road recovery and have so much respect for them, but this is the first time ever that I am disappointed that he not only put his life at risk, but also those around him. Please respect your life and be there for your grandchildren. Safety first.

@stanleystrycharz2572

Wow, that is one impressive recovery. Matt scaling the cliff right by the Diamond Billed Rock Pecker holes is a new level of sketchy! The driver of the side by side is lucky to still be breathing and still have all his parts. Fantastic video work too. Stay safe crew.

@imjabroni1

I was totally stressing for everyone, even the dogs, on this one. Jaymie and OSHA want a meeting with Matt pronto!

@mrs.roadqueen1269

I think we all need โ€œ Jaimeโ€™s Reaction Videoโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

@NotALot-xm6gz

Might I suggest a really strong cargo net to let your cleanup team fill the net and then you can winch the full net up slopes?

@Joe-so6su

Jake saying "I almost slid down that" should be enough to have everyone who is going near the edge in some sort of harness to keep them from going over. That was a crazy recovery.

@terryhayward7905

Matt should have used a side winch connected to a harness for safety on this job. It looks exciting doing it free, but it would not be exciting to see one of the crew falling down that crack.

@Machines.In.Action

Can't believe the driver walked away from that tumble! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

@WeTrudgeOn

๐Ÿ˜‚ Caitlin had the best line in the video, Matt says it wants to be upsidedown really bad, Caitlin says, typical side-by-side ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

@choss7836

Colin, 100% smart thinking, why arenโ€™t you 4 feet farther up and be on flat ground. Common sense says donโ€™t mess with it sitting on the edge of a cliff
