Just a daily reminder, 2003 Shredder was made by 4kids People who are known for censoring the hell out of anime. But allowed Shredder to commit all these crimes and such a badass voice. You can thank Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird for making 2003 Tmnt and giving us this shredder
1987 Shredder : nerfed villian 2003 Shredder : buffed villian
“Foot ninjas glaze me” had me gasping for air
Its kind of hillarious how 1987 Shredder was just a goober and then 4Kids of all things counterbalanced him by creating an iteration that is a genocidal egomaniac and easily one of the biggest haters in all of fiction.
I feel like there’s a certain villain we should judge too: Vilgax. His hatred of Ben is so much, he is willing to destroy EVERY SINGLE BEN WITH AN OMNITRIX IN THE INFINITE MULTIVERSE just so he can kill the only Ben without an Omnitrix himself
It doesn't matter which TMNT you watched. You ALWAYS knew the Shredder would do some insane shit
Its great seeing TMNT 2003 getting acknowledged lately. It seems with each passing incarnation, and the continued popularity of the 87 series, the 03 turtles would become lost media. Im glad that there are fans who remember the series and still hold on to it fondly.
Fun fact: A blink and you'll miss it detail is that the pommel of The Sword of Tengu is literally an image of Ch'rell. The foreshadowing for the twist was really well done!
Bros been beefing with turtles and a RAT for almost 4 decades DAMN 😭😭
Imma be real: I think trying to eradicate the entire multiverse (including yourself) clears kid buu killing people in heaven. Fighting people in the afterlife is wild, but having a PREMEDITATED plan to take out the original turtles and erase the entirety of the multiverse, concept and afterlife included, is beyond the scope of being beyond wild
In retrospect, we should've known this Shredder was built different from the theme song alone. Of all the TMNT intros, the 2003's intro is the only one to interrupt the theme song just to say "watch out for Shredder"
2003 Baxter Stockman had it the worst out all of his counterparts, this man didn’t deserve to get his body torn apart to the point he’s a brain in an exoskeleton/tube
I forgot how absolutely evil Shredder was to Baxter Stockman. That was GENUINELY so disturbing to see holy hell 😭💀🙏🏾
He ain't a menace to society, he is a DANGER TO THE DAMN GALAXY
The violation that Baxter took was insane! The fact that he lived through all that punishment, it's a miracle he lasted longer than most henchmen! Shredder definitely has no chill for his followers, including Karai.
ayo listen, this Shredder is probably the round table's main mob enforcer at this point
The saddest thing about Stockman is that he actually died at one point in the cartoon series due to circumstances involving him creating a clone body for him to transplant his brain into, only for it to deteriorate on him and cause him to go utterly insane because of the neurological damage. He died after saving April (who he was hallucinating as his dead mother)from a burning building...only for the Shredder to later find what was left of his corpse and resuscitated his brain because he still had a use for him. Baxter even screamed at Shredder: "Why won't you let me die!?" It's actually crazy how much Laird and Eastman could get away with when they wrote this show, especially when demonstrating how absolutely cruel the Shredder was.
I get that the 80s series is iconic, but they really did Shredder dirty in that considering how much of a menace he is in pretty much every other adaptation.
Might be a bit too personal for this comment section, but Baxter Stockman's fate reminds me of my father. Lived to 75, but at the end of his life, the only thing that was alive on his own was his brain. Nobody should have to live like that, and he told us years before if it ever came down to that, to just let him go. It's been two months and I still miss him. I actually discovered your channel around the time his health issues started taking over, and having your Boondockification of every anime in the background has helped me a lot. Thank you for being you, CJ, and keep doing what you do best.
