Not sure why that hit so hard, but considering Taki's the only one remembering these things, then all of sudden not, the lingering connection to Itomori drives him restless. Even after going to Itomori with them, drinking that chewed-up 'wine', acid trip and all, everything, the person he admires goes ahead on without him. If not for meeting Mitsuha and remembering at the end, the ending would be similar to 5 Centimeters per Second, minus the acceptance at the end.

The title 'Date' correspond to the movie when she went to Tokyo hoping to see the 'date' she made for him. She proceeded to meet the boy yet he didnt recognize her. The song is mixed with joy, bitter, and the feeling of meeting someone never met yet so familiar with. Simply a MASTERPIECE.

It's been two years since I watched this. I can still remember it. It was a cold night there's no electricity and watched the movie with a broken tablet. Downloaded the movie from my friend's house who moved to another town a couple weeks after I watched this movie. I wonder how is she.

This music still makes me feel some type of way... The feeling of a past summer feels at the beach or bay. Walking around and seeing the sun set with the people you care about. Remembering that exact feeling like you don't want that day to end. Next thing you know you're sitting in a room alone with your eyes close, wishing you could relive that good moment.
