With all due respect, can Hawass be trusted to not suppress any new findings he doesn't agree with? I'm glad new research is going on. But whenever I hear Zahi is involved, I get a little skeptical.

I am "fatigued" by the notion that a few drill holes is "damage' or "defacing" or "disrespectful" to these monuments when the truth is that they've been stripped of their casing stones, blasted with dynamite, robbed of important historical artifacts, and suffered the wrath of natural elements, tourism and vandalism for 4,500+ years.

I am totally shocked that Hawass has come around to not only endorsing this new mission but directing it. This a reversal of everything he has ever stood for. Let's see if he carries through with it or scuttles it. The world has every reason to distrust Hawass.
