@JamieKingsley-n3n

A stark reminder that 'glory' is often a story told later, while the reality for those in it was just terrifying survival. Chillingly real.

@freesk8

War is hell. Politicians and voters who advocate aggressive war should be on the front lines.

@flywheel986

The "six inches of space between you" so aptly described, is exactly the reason Roman Legionaries wielded the Gladius short stabber, for 500 years or so. It is also the reason the Cohorts were relentlessly trained for close quarter combat operations. This is why Consular armies were usually very successful against wildly impulsive hordes who could no longer properly utilize their beautiful, long, slashers, pokers, and smashers requiring long overhead strikes in close quarter combat with properly trained Legionaries

@45hoynejr70

You're axe getting stuck is equivalent to your gun jamming.

@PunkRockZombie205

If you've ever been in the front at a rock music festival you understand how quickly that crushing force can go bad

@lordMartiya

So, it was still hell.
Not surprising the Italian Condottieri did their best to AVOID battle by getting in such a position of advantage the enemy gave up, nobody wanted to get into this if they could avoid it.

@joerobb765

"Bruises appeared where you didnt remember being hit. Sleep came with difficulty, interrupted by movements to block attacks..." sounds like sleeping next to my wife

@themightydragon710

The saddest part is. Crying for mum. In man's final moments of terror most cry for their mums. That's a powerful pill to swallow

@Listenmebereal

the AI images are crazy cause they look so real but then suddenly A medieval soldier got fusion with its partner and became a weird mass

@Cabochon1360

Medieval people cared about bad breath. They cleaned their teeth (and actually had less tooth decay than modern people, because of the lack of refined sugar). They chewed parsley (that's why it remains as a garnish) and other herbs, such as mint.

@lawv804

The AI image of "axe stuck in shield" at 6:27 😂😂😂

@dankillpatrick7176

Finally! A video that's AI generated schlock (script and narration) over poorly edited b-roll. My favorite parts are the wild generalizations, clichés, and complete lack of any kind of sourcing. You got yourself a subscriber! Now I'm off to drink some antifreeze!!!

@whitewater0034

This is a massive pile of AI generated bullshit.

@bharathpactor4090

Narrative audio volume is too low. Please fix it in this video and the future ones. The video is extremely informative.

@elpepe2.030

dead internet theory

@BoringHistoryForSleep0

So battles were mostly mud, panic, and screaming? Way less heroic than in the movies—brutally real!

@J-Rush

These AI slop videos are the bane of YouTube

@mikeg3439

Even among those who had training, experience and composure, sheer physical exhaustion was an issue that occurred much sooner than you might think. You wear 40 pounds of gear/armor/shield and swing a 3 pound sword around as hard as you can, watch how fast you get tired. And that is often after having had to travel under rough conditions just to get to the START of that slug fest.

I remember deer hunting, that by the time the sun was getting close to dusk, my arms would be KILLING me from holding the .30-06 (7 to 8 pounds being typical).

@WhisperingMyths36

Finally, someone cutting through the movie myths! This video is a fantastic reality check on medieval warfare. Learned so much and it completely changed my perspective. Must watch! 👍

@oo-xb6gv

Yea if you started a battle with your men disorganized, tired, and tripping over each other you're done already
