@BlackOutManga

I wouldn't blame her cz the stress and despair of losing a loved one is heavy, and her character shows that her smile is a result of overcoming said tragedies.

@CaribbeanMenaceOficial

Repressed trauma from
her brother’s passing along with meeting ichigo then and there for the first time

@Atticus-Catnipp

It was due to that connection that Ichigo could save Orihime later on

@antoine-ginger-art

That's a trauma response. She blocked that memory away subconciously.

@3slicessenpai

Both hide their pain behind a mask and which is why I really like their relationship.

Someone as serious as Ichigo would probably see Orihime as a goof, but since he knows the pain she went through, you get this feeling that, much like Tatsuki, he was always worried about her, although from a distance.

@thefool7093

Her brother was in deaths door. She had bigger issues than remembering a random boy on the same day.

@inbetween1-042

That's normal trauma respond. I barely remember anything from my childhood and boy do I get shocked from the things shared by my sisters who watched me being mentally abused by my stepdad as a kid. I certainly don't recall being tossed from one end of the room to the other. I remember my mum being physically abused by my bio dad more than my own trauma.

@jafar1176

Orihime got abused by her parents, bullied since little because of her beauty look and her hair color, because of her bad time in school it result a fight with her brother and then her brother died a young age leaving Orihime all alone, and Orihime still bullied in school till she met Tatsuki, boy when you see her suffering even before the main story started

@sencarfencer

No. Her older brother is called tsukishima and he is doing fine

@yob5840

Orihime = masaki
Ichigo = young isshin

@MauZangetsu

Behind all the epicness and philosophical topics, BLEACH can be really damn sad sometimes

@JioVega

I mean when your only family member is on deaths door you'd be frantic too. It's easy to forget faces and names when you're that hysterical.

@AuroraPaintBrush4444

She was probably focused on her brother, which is fair for being a preteen.

@wallshadowasl

That makes sense due to the emotional trauma. She probably blocked out the event as a defense mechanism. It also helps to explain her powers.

@Shenruss

She was losing the most important person in her life at the moment; it's understandable that a small detail like that would be forgotten. She more than made up for it with her devotion to Ichigo over the years, though.

@DisFantasy

A boy will not forget the first time his heart went out to a girl.

@Gigawolf1

Pretty sure Orihime mentions the event when talking to Tatsuki about it - iirc, she didn't remember (understandable due to the trauma) but later found out that it was Ichigo's family clinic she went to

@mywholeheart472

Yeah, as a child from neglect, I have no almost no memories until I turned 16 and got away. Amd even then my memory is still bad.

@Unknownraven-em2qh

Sometimes people want to forget or need to forget trauma, and the fact that she was traumatized by whatever happened her brain kinda automatically just decided to forget that day and honestly, even though that sounds unhealthy sometimes certain people like her definitely need to forget we all know that she’s like that innocent, loving and caringtype of person and I can’t see her having that trauma be remembered because we would not know what would happen to her in the future if she kept that trauma

@kannan07

"hey wanna go on a date to the place where we first met?"

"You mean downstairs?"
