You can call the apartment for the hat. Sometimes the wife will tell you her husband forgot the hat at home, preventing you from accidentally killing your neighbor over a hat.

9:04 This guy doesn't have an expiration date on his ID. So he in-fact, will definitely "murder the thing that is his wife" (and Mark later too). Which means the REAL husband at 14:22 just got incinerated by Mark's orders, because the doppelganger was chilling with the wife at home!

Yeah, I died a few times to learn all the tricks too. I've actually encountered one of the 'wears a hat' neighbours that didn't wear a hat, and actually found out that sometimes if you call the apartment, their partner actually says the person left their hat behind. Also, a cheat way to get the 'survive without reading the data folders' is just kill everyone, cuz the key is 'survive', not 0 neighbour kills ^^

I love how all the residents are like "my husband/sister/finacee/whoever is not at home" and doesn't say anything else, but mclooy, steven's father asks "is he back" which ig might imply that he's been worried and now relieved. if that's the case that's kind of a sweet touch, makes these goofy ass cartoon characters seem more human

The icy cold realization when you had a guy perfectly replicated the paperwork and you only found out he was a doppelganger by calling his apartment right before you were about to buzz him in, and then looking over it again and seeing absolutely no detail missed? That was wicked, they're really threateningly capable, you could do everything right and just get unlucky one day if they can pull that off

21:49, it's subtle but Dr. Afton is supposed to have a square jaw and the dopple had a round jaw. Mark was definitely lucky the phone also confirmed it.

The two biggest mistakes I see everyone make is assuming variations are glitches (F30-03 like the first vid, or the man responding to the wrong question here) and forgetting you can't wear hats when taking an ID photo.
