I don't know why most Boruto fans are so dillusional. The anime and the manga never shows any battle of the magnitude we saw in shippuden. Boroshiki created a gaint Rasengan that didn't even deal the damage equivalent to a simple rasenshuriken and people are scaling him above Hogoromo who possesses six paths Rinnegan, has the ability to create moon sized six paths enhanced chibaku tensei and has reality altering powers. When Boruto was announced I was excited to see battles go to DBZ level, and I am disappointed to see them go down to the level of original Naruto(so far only Naruto and Sasuke vs Momo and Kinshiki has scaled to a city level one)

Hogoromo has a good amount of chakra, as Uzumakis can handle Kurama because of him, but he was a children of a low classed Otosusuki. He is considerably strong but Momoshiki is a high classes Otosusuki. It's logical that he is much more stronger than Hogoromo.
