normal people is such an amazing book and if you like a book that doesn’t sugar coat life it’s meant for you. the series is also great. i’d say if you can’t get into the book watch the series first then read the book it can really help you understand the characters better.
ugh its just so hard for me to think of people liking fourth wing but not the seven year slip. to each their own !! thats the great thing about reading, is that everyone has their own opinions
When the moon hatched was my favorite book of the year. Loved the world building
A Court of Thorns and Roses(Acotar) yes! It's literally so freaking good.
i’m sorry that “eh” to daughter of no worlds genuinely shocked me 😮it’s sooooooo good. omg like so much action drama and the characters are so good. i still have the 3rd book to read. i think the carissa broadbent is just such a good author. i have loved every book of hers i have read.
Normal People, terrible hateable characters, but amazing writing for making us hate the characters so much. Love the book.
PERCY JACKSON: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
i dont like to criticise peoples taste but im still in shock that people actually like fourth wing and a court of thorns and roses but not normal people. its still great to hear peoples opinions on them though
The Nightingale...was a miracle. Had myself crying at the end 😅 Kristin Hannah's books are awesomeee 🤩🤩
no for normal people is crazy. one of my favorite books
I liked When the Moon Hatched. World building wasn’t great, took too long to understand what was going on. But in the end I felt emotionally invested in the story and characters
I liked The Seven Year Slip, and I still am going to read Daughter of No Worlds ❤
Daughter of no worlds is my all time favorite fantasy series! But I get that sometimes books just don’t click
A fate inked in blood was one of my favorite reads last year. Leans more fantasy but still has the romance.
Unpopular Opinion but Fourth Wing was what I would have called a good fan fiction when I was fourteen.
I LOVE DIVINE RIVALS! I melt every time I read it. Roman is MY MAN!
Couldnt even get through half of ACOTAR. Wanted to love it so bad too. I feel like i maybe would have liked it when i was younger and going through 10 billion books a week.
A lot of people are asking for why's for certain books so here is my attempt. I haven't read all of these books but as a person who reads a variety of genres, from memoirs, nonfiction, fiction, romance, science fiction, horror, fantasy etc. these are my opinions about the ones I have read here. Fourth Wing: it's a decent fantasy romance with more romance elements through out. The world building is okay but not elaborate, rich, or anything new. If you're a fan of romance you'll definitely like certain aspects and the mmc. (We are how we are) it's, imo, too long for what it is, it can be about 200 pages shorter and that goes for the sequel as well. It's way too long but that one at least contains a little more world building and political aspects. Acotar: it's really your run of the mill romantasy. There will be parts fans of romance enjoy but mostly in my opinion there are better written romantasy books and romantasy authors. To me the fmc had everything come to her much to easily and book one is basically moot because of what happens in book two. Most people will argue that book one is needed to show the growth but I think any personal growth would have worked into a longer first book with a different premise. It's not like the author doesn't write ginormous books, know what I'm saying? I would skip. Divine Rivals: this to me is very low fantasy and very heavy romance. The romance however is very cute. It's sweet and gentle and encompasses all of the "first young love" things. It's not fantasy except for minor things that kind of push the plot and the love forward. Flawless and any Elsie Silver book: I didn't enjoy any of them. I didn't like the fmc, they were whiny and super misogynistic. It was basically a copy print of each book but with different main characters and slight changes. I hated the way each women was very mean to any other woman that the mmc dated before them, which I know in some cases, they're mean women so it makes sense but out of pure catty jealousy I don't like it. Serpent and the Wings of Night: actually very good world building and an interesting family dynamic/ look into relationships, specifically familial ones that aren't what they seem. I did enjoy the writing style and the story over all. If you like romantasy that isn't quite as fast paced you might like this one. The relationships aren't insta-love and feel quite organic imo. A lot of the other books are on my tbr and I'll get to them one day hopefully before I die 😂
when the moon hatched was so good for me, truly had an intricate world
