Your conversational ad-libs, coupled with the clear and concise approach to your videos, make me like *and* appreciate this channel of yours!
My dad was a fan of Gigantor as a kid.
Thank you for making this video, the grandfather of mecha need more recognition and a comeback. Also, thank you for mentioning FX, removing it from it's lost media status.
I don't really watch most of your videos and haven't commented in ages, if ever but I just wanted to thank you for keeping up with your videos. This channel has introduced me to so many movies and shows and I'm having a big personal anime Renaissance currently and find myself watching those videos again. I really appreciate those deep dives into anime history. With a lot of creators I feel like anime started only in the last few years for them but there's so much more if you care to look. Thanks for keeping it up all those years, absolutely classy!
Dude I didn’t know they were doing another version of Tetsujin28!! YES!!
Sorry Bob I been commenting alot on your channel. I am actually an older subscriber of yours from way back in the days. You been on youtube for quite some years, but this recent love of vintage and classic anime has really interested me and I love how your focusing on more the evolution of the medium now. I hope you do a break down like 70's era at some point. I am really looking forward to more of this journey you’re taking. I am kind of doing the same thing right now in chronological order and I have had some truly enlightening experiences to say the least. I am up to the mid 70's currently.
Not even gonna mention that Gigantor renamed Kenji Murasame to "Dick Strong"? DICK FRIGGIN STRONG! lol
Tetsujin 28 1980 is for me. Robot poses and design is beautiful. Music slaps too.
Watching this to help me gain more info about Tetsujin before I play Super Robot Taisen Z2.2 (& Z3)
I can see why you might not be the most proud of this vid, I thought the off the cuff delivery had it's own compelling flavor to it haha And I'm sure FX would be about the same even if you saw it subbed, how much context could you be missing 🤷
Another beautiful episode, great job man!
I think there's a point in single-episode villains of 2004 Tetsujin being way more interesting and sympathetic than the main villain. They, lesser antagonists, are often victims of war, which warped them beyond normal, turned them into dangerous monsters. They didn't deserve it. But the main antagonist embodies the war itself, the forces that put wars in motion. There's nothing sympathetic about him, he's not a victim of anything, he's the one who inflicts misery upon the entire world for entirely selfish reasons. Emotions? Personality? Nothing like that, only endless greed. The actual root of all evil.
Awesome video man 😎!
Your videos are instant dopamine release!
Soooo... 1980's Shotaro an orphan that became a successful crime fighter... He is Nightwing. He's Japanese Nightwing.
Awesome breakdown. I think FX would appeal to me the most out of all of these
Great video as always!
I haven't seen the older series but I watched the 2004 remake and really enjoyed it.
I might watch one of the Tetsujin 28 anime in the future considering that I have a particular taste for episodic anime stemming from my younger days with Pokémon_, _Bakugan_, _Digimon_, and _Beyblade_. Of course, this video and the recent license of several of the _Tetsujin 28 anime from Discotek factored into this choice of mine.
