For the Amount of Work and Yeaid from the Catch , Crazy ... Between the Cold Surf and Weather They are some HARDY Fisher Men .... Thanks Andrew ...
when we went hunting in Belarus we always stopped by to get some freshwater smoked eels. man are they delicious. big fan of unagi too, prefer it cold tho for that gelatinous and snappy skin.
And this is why the eel population worldwide is pretty much stuffed
Nice one. I went through a phase of smoking eel when I lived near a lake full of them. I found that the eels that were under a metre and thinner (younger) than the big fat ones were the best. The big ones are just too tough and gamey to enjoy.
broooo you missed it when you are in indonesia.. in Sulawesi there is glass eel season when people comes to the river and they catch like tons of it..
i was re watching some of your video's when you popped up ....thanks Andrew
Come to the state of Maine, this is where glass eels come from. We have a season for them, and they all get sold to asia. It's very difficult to get a license, but glass eels sell around 1700 dollars per pound.
The eel farmer is making bank with 2 Mercedes like that π great video again ππ»
Andrew, we have something similar going on with juvy lobsters here in Indonesia south sea. Similarly wild caught, barely visible even smaller than the baby eels, command high prices, huge black market, 100% for export only. The thing is, nobody really knows what they are used for and why the price is so expensive.
