Explanation for the New Year in March one: The Gregorian calendar (our most common and modern calendar) is an improvement of the Julius calendar, which began in March. This led to people believing the new year began in March. The Gregorian calendar was made after noticing that the new year beginning in March did not equate to the Solar calendar.

Fun fact! Our calendar is technically Egyptian because the Julius calendar was made off of the Egyptian one (^^)
